So many media people giving us a serve. You wouldn't think there could be so many media people who could be so wrong.
Last year they kicked Essendon, it doesn’t matter what reality is kicking clubs makes good TV. Almost as good as a redemption story, but to get that you have to kick them first.

Too many footy journalist and shows these days, they all need to compete harder than ever for your ears and eyes, if you report reasonably, then people won’t watch.

Problem with Goodes was he didn't shy away from the game and threw in some serious dirty shots on blokes - fair enough everyone does it. But the media pretended he never did anything wrong which was just rubbish - riled people up. Goodes played hard as anyone.

Personally I couldn't stand they way he went that girl who called him a gorrilla - just hate seeing kids getting called out like that.

Betts is a fence builder, a fence mender - he brings people together to solve problems and try to end racism - Lamumba is running a campaign and clearly feels hard done by and its about him.

Goodes had the right things to say and people listened to him and the media just behaved like morons - just be honest for once in your life.

Good bloke, great footballer, calling out racism sometimes did stuff the fans didn't like.

From there it just spiraled and no one would back down.
Walking the line of fairness is a fair enough critique & I understand why some may not have liked him as a footballer just as i understand why some don't like Selwood or Greene, crossing the line into racism though? Not good enough.

He "went" that girl did he? Slightly melodramatic IMO given he more or less pointed toward her. I doubt that he I.D'd the young lady prior & ultimately think the angst for her being called out for acting in a feral manner is misguided.
Getting admonished for acting poorly is not worse than the poor act.

Then again we could stop giving them the ammunition.

Touch unrelated - but Stockers Instagram post talking about the club and his individual season was a breath of fresh air. Well spoken, grounded individual who isn’t afraid to speak openly. No media training necessary for that bloke. Call me crazy but I reckon he goes on ball next year and tears the competition apart. Just really strikes me as someone who could go to another level.

The future is certainly in good hands. Stocker and Walsh are our Hodge and Mitchell. I would argue that Stocker is more suited to be captain than Walsh or Weiters.

Doubt this is a popular opinion. If Clarko has already said no I'd prefer us to move on now. Don't need to be convincing someone to take on the most demanding job at the club.

If Ross interviews well, give him the job. His motivation is silverware. Clarko from what it seems would be the biggest paycheck in AFL history.

If he really told the club, 'I'm out', then I'm inclined to agree. If he didn't really mean it, that would have been communicated to or even co-ordinated with CFC

This 100%.
I’m not saying we are without fault in this process - either on field or off. Clearly we have struggled, the review has been called into question and Teague’s treatment criticised.
Browny on OTC just rubbished the indecision of the board in not having appointed Lyon yet. How hypocritical would that be?!? Sayers just said FOUR days ago that we would commence a coach selection process - and the media want us to have appointed a coach already? That would be portrayed as not having done due diligence in the search. Sometimes you cannot win no matter what you do.
You are so right in saying the 24/7 nature of football media means that more and more people are trying to shout louder and have hotter takes than the rest to stand out more.

Tom Morris just said on the couch, there’s still a divide on Ross Lyon. Clarko still the no.1 preference and he believes the club will go again for Clarko and the appointment of Brian Cook we believe will help us with Clarko.

Browny giving us a serve as well

We r Carlton everyone else can go f… themselves.

This probably won't be popular either but I totally agree. The timing just doesn't feel right for mine.

He's been going at it for 16 straight years. If we were getting him after a year or two break when he's recharged the batteries and got the fire back in the belly, that would be different.

But if we're just persistently showing up with big $$$$ to lure a multi-premiership coach who would currently rather be golfing and spending time with his family than showing up to a footy club each day, well that kind of reminds me of this -

Regardless of a person's coaching accolades or acumen, they need to be in the right headspace and have the right motivations for coming onboard, or imho it won't end well.
