Many list managers would be in their 40's and 50's.

SOS was a legend on the field when many of these guys were trying to break into the industry.

They want to deal with the man they idolized.

From their perspective, they don't think of it as giving up A Grade talent for second round picks. They see it as an opportunity to have a coffee with SOS, their idol :)

No joke though you can just tell SOS is an Alpha male and that would have a positive impact for us...it's just human nature for others to be more easily persuaded by someone like him.

Trying to best him in any kind of debate or negotiation would be a nightmare.
Just ask Caroline Wilson.

I just want to say I have always loved and admired SOS .... it gutted me when all that salary cap stuff happened and there were some sour grapes between him and a few at the club.

But you cannot keep a champion down.

He has been unbelievable for the club. I am just in awe of him.

Been waiting forever to see things start to really turn around.

And now we can see the light .... he’s the ******* terminator!

Interesting one this is.
Shiel left Everybody at Giants HQ and I mean everybody with the intentions that he is coming to us.
Might be all piss farting around at the moment to increase $$ or whatever else may be the reason for this delay.

Still sticking to my guns. Shiel wants to be with us. Has since day dot

I’m wondering whether the delay is largely around Carlton and GWS having an agreement in principle on what the deal would look like. Maybe not the exact details, but the major pieces locked down.

Connors is not the sort to sanction an announcement without being certain the destination was secured.

I can imagine other clubs are using that time to make a bit of noise... most likely ineffectually.
