I feel Shiel wont be coming our way this year. It hasn't even begun and if mcgovern is keen then we need to make this work. Shiel seems keen either this year or next so its good we will get Shiel as a FA next year.

I see next years 1st going to adelaide with change coming back to us this year. Still think we are bottom 6 next year so our 2019 1st (pick 3?) For McGovern and their 2018 melbourne 1st (pick 15?)

They can ontrade that pick if they are hoping to lock away a higher pick this year. That would be up to them.

If we got a mid 1st as a pp (12) we would then have picks 1, 12, 17?, 26?, 27?

Walsh with 1. No brainer. Then let the games begin

I'm keen for Walsh. No issue, but what if it was Pick One and next years second rounder for McGovern/B.Crouch & Pick 8? May be Smith Caldwell Rozee or Hately? That's 3 very good players (including 2 ready made) and would really help us

Every year people get excited about Pick One. Every year other players inside Pick 10 are as good if not better.

We will get enough midfielders regardless and McGovern isn't what I would call a tall. McGovern for Pick 25

Pick One for Walsh
Shiel/Setterfield for First round next year
Dahlhaus as FA
Miles for very late pick
Brodie for Pick 19
Bytel/McHenry at 30
Nelson as a rookie

A fit Fisher Cuningham Kennedy SPS and we are in a good spot

Looks good to me :thumbsu:

Can’t see Adelaide letting a contracted McGovern go for a second rounder.

Im still not overly interested in those other guys. Not for 1 instance am i saying they wont be good if not great players. Walsh will be an absolute ripper. He and Dow will be something special

...and can develop together like Charlie and Harry. Think of Chris Judds term - 'cohesion' and knowing each others game.

As Andy Maher said on the Carlton Show this week 'cohesion' means, in the future, when a Dow or a Walsh get the ball in the centre they'll look up and 'know' where Harry and Charlie will be leading to !

I just think people get too overexcited about Pick One. It is rarely the best player. They are kids with so much development in them and some really improve in the AFL system and some stagnate or don't handle the step up. So hard to judge.

To get McGovern, B.Crouch & a top 10 pick is so tempting and would really help our rebuild.

A midfield with Cripps Kennedy Crouch Dow Hately SPS Fisher LOB Cuningham Curnow maybe Shiel/Setterfield makes us very competitive from next year and for another 5-6 years minimum. JMO

PS we may still add Dahlhaus Miles & Brodie and maybe a Nelson. Depth and options. Northern Blues would be looking good next year ;)

Daisy impressed me yesterday. Worked both ways. If he gets a deal for 2019 he deserves it but I still think it's important that others play ahead of him. Having him the 2's teaching the youngsters and putting pressure on others for selection is a positive. Credit where it's due

Simpson is the type that could hold his form for another year or so. Star

Simmo will get to 350, easily!!

Im not excited about pick 1. Im excited about Walsh

I’m not all that happy with the news about McGovern, if it eventuates. We extorted the Crows in the Gibbs trade because he was contracted, now we are giving them a chance to return the favour for a contracted McGovern. It’s our midfield that needs an injection of quality experience.
I’ll do my nut if this happens
