Having a look at the list and players left on it with players like Ziebul/Cinnington/Goldstein/Tarant/ Polec all would be paid up with nothing left to pay and on min contracts from now on.

Now just go through your list and do a quick calculation on which new players will be getting paid overs, North have had a War Chest for 5 years and are yet to spend the bare min. Delisting Tyson,Polec, hall alone would make up the $1.3 mil alone FFS

Now lets get back to your list that you mentioned and salary management
Take out the older players like Cunnington / Tarrant / ziebull / Goldstein etc as they no longer require top $$ and will play for $300k a year due to being excessively over paid for 10 years.

Now take out players like Polec , Hall , Tyson and 2-3 others that are getting overly paid and are lucky to be on a list and wont be missed if replaced by Rookies

Make a list and lets do a salary status on their value , I guarantee you your club would struggle to pay $8 mil to the remainder on the list as its full of kids.

Hall, by the way, is averaging 30+ disposals (in full games) this year. You reckon we're delisting him.

Given the masterful salary cap management skills that suggests, I reckon we will probably get by okay without your continued advice.

Can't believe I have spent this long debating someone who reckons we have already paid Polec his entire contract but also that we should trade Polec out to clear the funds remaining on his contract (which, again, is $0 according to you).

So you not going to take up the challenge to make a list ?
trading out Polec is not the integral part of this debate its his value to the team in regards to what he is to be paid if kept on the list

The integral part of the argument is what payments are required to player going foward to facilitate the Harry Makay offer
seems you dont get that and stuck on 1 part of this or that suits your argument.

Basically going foward the North Melbourne football club does not have enough quality to demand more than $8mil salary space for 2022

You still dont get the point , In a $13.1 million cap after banking 5% for the last 3 years
most likely North will have unused cap space that gets wasted as their is no other quality to pay $15 mil this years

Couple of points.

1) You can't bank for 3 years, only 2.
2) Even if you bank the ceiling is 105% not 115%.

Yep - having his best year yet. Very impressive after missing round 1, sub round 2, getting KOed in the 1st quarter V Cats and missing the following week. In the best 6 of the full 12 games played.

Polled V Giants, Saints, Hawks, Pies, Dees & Crows.

Never going to get an offer close to that. He’s a good player but 2 first type trades are reserved for the top few players in the league. Contracted or not.

Who knows if any truth to the rumour or if he would even entertain a move south.

Think our best offer may be the Amon compo if it’s end of first round and a player in our first 10-22 range.

He is the leading intercept marking defender in 2022 with Tom Barrass. Take out the 2 games he played as a forward and the 2 games he was subbed out early and he would be a long way in front.

3.9 intercept marks per game.

McGovern 3.5, Moore 3, May 2.9, Stewart 2.9, Taylor 2.9, Andrews 2.5, Siciliy 2.6, Aliir 2.3.

He is also in the top 10 for contested marks - equal with Naughton and in front of Hawkins & Curnow.

Only dodo would offer a 2nd round pick.
