Senator Adam Schiff just announced he is investigating whether insider trading was involved in trump's tariff announcements.

I think there a few things in play. But absolutely there are folk cashing in
Absolutely no question Trump and his family and cronies would be front running these announcements.

The one thing the dud business man can do is manipulate things to his favour and rort and grift.

VIC premier Allan looks to be running out of time

Dont mind him, but he's overcooked the superannuation part - of the trillions held by the Australian Super funds, only about 12% is held in real assets. Most of it is in tradeable assets like shares. The ageing population is not going to cause a liquidity problem in 2040.

Considering his financial qualifications, it's disappointing he can't get basic facts right.

United mates: Australia’s alliance with US declared ‘ironclad’ amid China threat

The Australian-US military alliance is “ironclad”, defence chiefs from both countries have declared, arguing the century-old partnership will remain crucial in preserving mutual national security.
Speaking exclusively to this masthead at Joint Base Pearl Harbour-Hickam in Hawaii, Australia’s Chief of Navy Vice Admiral Mark Hammond and United States Pacific Fleet Submarine Force Commander Rear Admiral Richard Seif gave a fierce defence of Australia’s contribution to the alliance.

The pair also expressed confidence the AUKUS pact would endure and see Australia acquire nuclear-powered submarines from the early 2030s as planned.
Questions have hung over the future of US-Australian military relations since Donald Trump returned to the White House in January.

He has never publicly stated his opinion of the $370 billion AUKUS trilateral submarine program struck under his predecessor Joe Biden and has cast doubt on his commitment to once-close allies while driving a relentless America-first agenda.

Admiral Seif said he did not doubt the USA’s ongoing commitment to the AUKUS security pact.

“I’m not concerned at all,” he said.

“The strength of this alliance goes back … generations and I think there’s very strong bilateral support for the AUKUS initiative and the capability that it brings.”

Under the agreement, Australia would acquire three to five Virginia-class nuclear-powered submarines from the US beginning in the early 2030s – but only if it does not degrade American undersea capabilities. Under the AUKUS pact, dozens of Australians are already training in the UK and US, including on board fast-attack submarines.

A bit of background on the bloke who thinks we shouldn’t celebrate Australia Day.

He gets paid $400,000 of taxpayer money a year to be a professional race hustler.

The race discrimination commissioner has released a 10-year plan to tackle racism in Australia, focusing on First Nations experiences.

The report called for structural racism, "implicit" in institutions like the judicial system, healthcare, workplaces and even in Parliament House, to be dismantled.

All 63 recommendations will be presented to parliamentarians following the framework's official launch.

I totally agree with what he said in the following, treat all Australians the same. That is essentially why the NO got up.

"The report called for structural racism, "implicit" in institutions like the judicial system, healthcare, workplaces and even in Parliament House, to be dismantled."

But I think we'd have different views on what are the racist elements in these institutions. He doesn't seem to realise indigenous people get preferential treatment in healthcare, workplaces and the judicial system.

As I say often. There is no such thing as a “trans” kid.

Only a mentally ill adult.

Usually the mother.
Agreed. However, in some cases the parents are also under alot of pressure from the trans machine/activists. Let your child convert or you will lose him/her forever.

Cult.

Polls are necessarily accurate, but clearly both major parties continue to record low primary votes as voters dissatisfied with both.

Hopefully we end up with a minority government.

Is this not one of the most Orwellian things you’ve ever seen from a state government?

Orwellian? Get a grip.

If in 2025 you still support conversion therapy then you’re definitively in the extremist minority in Australia.

It is fascinating to watch you take such a devout libertarian civil rights stance on subjects that affect you personally, but then consistently toss that out the window and advocate for state or church interference and erosion of civil liberties whenever the lives of other groups (particularly minorities) are concerned.

Women’s reproductive rights, imprisonment/deportation of immigrants without due process, human rights violations in conflict zones, a eugenics-based response to COVID, eroding freedom of speech and the press, book bans, conversion therapy. The list goes on.

You either believe in libertarian principles or you don’t. Pick one.

this is nothing, you should see him in the trump threads.

Make Australia Great Again

Well she has been given the Australian equivalent of the Musk DOGE portfolio, so not really that surprising...
