Ash is certainly not a key forward. Third tall only. Just down on confidence. Work hard and earn another chance, young man.

Pretty much the same as Dean at the other end. AJ will be dropped now but what these two players really need is support and to be played in the right position . Frampton needs to come in to provide assistance to Dean… or even god forbid to play forward…. In the absence of Murphy mcstay and eyre hes easily our best option, but I think Dean should be retained if possible.

Yesterday I would have preferred a midget forward be subbed off ( who were also producing very little) rather than AJ as he was starting to get his hands on it in the third quarter. Maybe one or two quality passages of play might have helped him turn the corner. But his shanked shot on goal probably left them with no choice. Hopefully he’ll be back but his confidence is very low.

Yeah agree Dean looks like third tall defender. Not sure he has the speed/athleticism for that role though. 2 games in but need to see both dean and AJ playing the third tall role at either end before a line goes through them.

AJ seems to be a very laconic player. I also think he is still afraid of the contest in the AFL. It sounds like the coaches are backing his abiility and know he can do some pretty special things but he keeps freezing. The ability is there but the heart and mind are weak

Really disappointed to say I heard racial slurs from our fans about his performance. Did report it but there’s not much they can do. Location was in GA, high up.

Ash was an issue there too. He goes for the same contests as checkers and actually spoils him.
Between that and the goals he’s cost us by touching the ball instead of shepherding, you’d thing he had money on the opposition. He’s like a double agent!

This is intentional in the current game. If only one is competing in the air, the opposition have the numbers in the air and intercept mark it.

Improved performance from last week, could have had a couple, halved a lot of contests, but doubt it’ll be enough to hold his spot. Likely the only change will be McInnes for Johnson, unless of course Mitchell is deemed ready to return.

I see AJ had had to delete his social media after vile disgusting comments sent to him regarding his performances.
Some supporters really have to pull their heads in, and in all honesty, go and fk off and support another club.
If you don't like the performances, you can discuss and critique those, with suggestions in which he may improve his output, eg. Going back to the VFL for a month to get back his confidence in marking, and working on his 2nd and 3rd efforts. That's proper critiquing without getting vile and personal. But to make this an opportunity to get personal, is disgusting....

I've avoided as much social media as possible, because the negativity after a couple of losses on the back of a premiership is mind boggling. And now add in abuse/racial abuse directed at one of our players, just makes me sick.

Ash just needs to do one thing, actually attack every ball in the air that comes his way with intent, not half-heartedly like it appears he has been. None of this sag off the back stuff either, either hit up on the lead or fly for the ball and good things will come of it, whether that be clunking one or bringing it to ground level.

That should be a very simple and easy KPI for him to keep up with.

With his speed off the mark, leap, strong hands, and agility at ground level (relative to his KPD opponents) there aren't many defenders who he couldn't at least halve a contest against, if he consistently approaches them with intent the way he can and should.
