Concern at home is if l tradies can continue to work - we've had trees removed in the backyard as the fence needs replacing, and said fence is about to fall down

The guy doing the work is lined up, just need to lock in a time for it to be done - but now not sure if that can go ahead or not.

It may not be be deemed an essential service but if a 40m+ long fence at the rear of the house falls down, surely replacement is essential

This is the latest (7:54pm) from the NRL who, unlike the AFL, have decided they want to forge ahead with their season:

The ARLC and NRL are still weighing up housing every player and coach in a compound to keep the season going without the risk of travel or social interaction.

Gladstone in Queensland could soon become the home of the 2020 season.

“That’s a possibility. We are costing that at the moment and looking at all the logistics. There’s 1300 rooms up there, you can separate all the players,” V’Landys said.

“Again it’s minimising risk. It’s all about minimising the risk to our players. We want our players healthy, that’s the paramount consideration of whatever we do. That’s why we’re listening to the government and health advice from our experts.”

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have posted like 150 odd times here my position is crystal clear. I have what I want no football.

The NRL is broke. Needs the cash badly

I’d dare say yes you’ll get your fence done mate, just claim it’s unsafe and you should be fine

I agreed with the Doctors I know and the global data. The "expert" reasoning behind keeping schools open was suspect. Kids congregating in malls and essential services workers kids will have nowhere to go? Please, look to the response from other sensible countries. All a moot point now of course, simply delayed the inevitable and allowed more kids and teachers to become carriers.
Why was it inevitable? People who want to lock everything down have no plan for how this finishes. That is not sensible. They are reacting blindly to the moment. They just hope that if you lock it down for a month or 2 it disapears. It wont. yes it flattens the curve but it doesnt fix the long term problem. Just delays it.

only a vaccine can stop this and thats a year away. At least. We cant lock down society for a year until a vaccine arrives. Society will permanently collapse. at some point we are just going to have to tolerate a 10 percent death toll of the elderly. As horrific as that is the death and welfare toll of society shutting down for a year will be far far worse. All these bailout packages the government is Proposing to help disaffected individuals only buy some time. like putting a bandaid on a knife wound.

The reasoning to keep them open had nothing to do about the above but purely about the 50% of essential medical staff who have school/day care aged children who are probably going to have to stay home with schools being closed.
Less medical staff = more deaths.

Hatter that's what I meant - and totally fixable by keeping a reduced number of school staff on to cater for medico's.,. the rest of kids study from home Also why wait to the point where grandparents can't help medical professionals with child minding at all. fearing the kids have had a long exposure time.

Surely tradies are essential. What do you do if your pipes start flooding or your power goes out.

These "Stage 1" restrictions will be in place for at least the next month:

The National Cabinet met via video link on Sunday night to discuss measures to restrict the spread of coronavirus.

Morrison announced 'Stage One' of the next phase of restrictions after the meeting and said it will be reviewed in a month's time.

As of midday Monday, registered and licensed clubs, licensed premises in hotels and pubs, entertainment venues, cinemas, casinos and nightclubs will be closed.

Restaurants and cafes will be restricted to takeaway only.

Indoor sporting venues and places of worship will also be forced to close.

"Enclosed spaces for funerals and things of that nature will have to follow the strict four square metre rule which will be enforced," Morrison said.

That's what I'd hope - considering he'd be working outside and social distancing shouldn't be an issue, would hope they can continue working at this stage

I am a bit confused after that. Does that mean all that stuff that was said this morning isn't happening?
This seems the most basic breakdown of what was just said -
#breaking PM Scott Morrison has announced pubs, clubs, casinos, cinemas, nightclubs, gyms, indoor sporting venues and places of worship will be closed from Midday tomorrow.

Restaurants and Cafes will be limited to takeaway only.

No idea how it's going to impact anything from this morning's announcement
