Good decision. Always thought BEC was the way to go, Suncorp never made sense. Don't have to worry about the weather either.

In some ways I'm more worried about the weather at an indoor arena in February, I don't do well with humidity :(

Dang. Hope it all works out plus the seating issues as well mate.

There was never any indication it was going to be a PPV. Saturday afternoon / evening Bris time was a dead giveaway. A PPV would have been late morning Sunday.
WWE have ran a few PLE internationally this year and time differences haven’t mattered.

It’s a bit odd to come out here for 1 show if it’s not a PPV

I've just spent the last 20 minutes looking around... Brisbane is strange with its complete dearth of hotels in massive areas (just motor inns...), I think for me I'll be better off staying near the public transport.
Mate, I'm here in the Northern Suburbs - let me know if you need a hand with anything.

WWE isn't trying to make money from them. The go on the Peacock network and people watch them for fee whenever suits.

AEW runs the old fashioned PPV model, and that means they need to show them at a time when their core audience can watch live.

UFC still run Sunday mornings in Australia for the same reason.

I've always assumed it will be special event content on max, but not an actual ppv.

Pretty sure AEW will screen Grand Slam Australia on HBO Max.
It allows subscribers to watch the replay if they don't want to watch it live in the early morning US time.

Some sexy genius said this in the previous thread.

But I really think that, for locals who aren't investing as much into the show, these cheaper tickets are going to be the deal of the day, because you're a good chance of being upgraded. You're just not going to know til the last couple of weeks.

Can you imagine if you've paid 20 bucks for seats that you thought were the last row of the third tier, to now being inside a little arena? Those guys should be friggen stoked.

Those spending a thousand plus are ringside seats. They are diehards that would spend that amount of money regardless of venue.

And the best seats are still going to be the best seats; the VIP prices still would've been the best prices. I think the closer to the ring you were, the less affected you're likely to be. I was in the 2nd bay of seats on the floor, but given how much floor seating was still available at Suncorp they might still fit us all on the floor.

I kind of fell the other way, I had assumed all along that it was a PPV until a couple of weeks ago. I'll be flat if it just ends up being an "AEW Grand Slam" TBS/Max special... but they'll tell us "well that's what Grand Slam has always been".

Mate, I'm here in the Northern Suburbs - let me know if you need a hand with anything.

That's really kind mate, thanks. I suspect your mentions might be busy in the weeks leading up to the show!

Fingers cross you're right about the Entertainment Centre. I think the fact it's built on a swamp is messing with my head!

Is this when I find my last post mentioning what a dumb idea it was and they’d never go close to selling out Suncorp?

I don't think you were alone there man, you weren't really sticking your neck out.

If you go the Ticketek event page it warns you that the show has been moved to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre... but you can still buy $20 tickets.

I'm almost tempted to buy a few, wait to find out where they end up, and see whether my mates who are coming to the Friday night show want to come Saturday for the big one.

I think the AEW style lends itself to the smaller more intimate experience that an arena can provide rather than the stadium. It would be such a better atmosphere in the arena. Much better call to stage it at the BEC and by the time the event rolls around, Suncorp will have been a distant, if not forgotten memory
