Brad Scott levels of bullshit IMO
On the line of “easy fix”
He outcoached Simmo and JL in his first two. Those games were an eternity ago now but I keep coming back to that ****ing saga. Refreshed, revitalised Clarkson with gap year sporting wisdom to impart was on full display. Have we seen him since? I think not
I know. But I think it was weighing him down a long time before he actually spoke up about it. It had to have started around R4 imo. He has form in the journeyman recruitment area, so maybe that happens anyway, but I remember feeling like we had a football team again. There was distinct hope and optimism, and then... well, we know what happened next. I'm not using it to excuse his current performance but I'd put good money on that having permanently damaged himWe were getting belted before he took his holiday.
This was after the first 2 wins.
Chris Fagan has won a premiership and been in 2 GF’s since.
He hasn’t embraced the rebuild at all. It’s really been identical to Scott.
Rather than backing in our draftees (like Mitchell has), he has clogged up the team with past it veterans, journeyman and ordinary role players from other clubs.
Tucker, Howe, Pink, Shiels, Daniel, Parker, Logue, Corr
Majority of those guys are not getting a game at any club, let alone a good one.

Very thin ice………..As I was given a day of because some weak individuals can’t handle a little bit of Duck passion. I was going to say this yesterday.
Dont be coming round here Clarkson, pissing on our backs and telling us its raining. They had a bunch of players out, you saying they “use the corridor” then completely ignore fixing that during the 3/4 is a massive fail. You were shown up, you were embarrassed by Cox. You’re on thin ice
If they have numbers in the corridor then why did we find it so hard to move it around the wings like Collingwood does, surely we would outnumber them outside the corridor?
If you watch other good teams their wingers keep their shape while ours follow the ball and shrink our shape. How is that not teachable?Because no one works hard to provide options down the wings. For all the criticism RHJ got, there were several times we tried to switch to his side of the ground and he was literally the only player moving.

Our game plan was to handball through the corridor which was a disaster.I remember every time wed lose under Brad, he would say "we expected the opposition to...."
Oh awesome, if you did then WTF did you coach during the week?
Clarko got ****ing schooled by a young coach. Unfortunately a lot of these old heads are very stubborn and if it worked in their past that's it.
He is a grandpa in a lot our players eyes
Yeh but it works for Fagan. Fagan has Bruce, Morris and Davis who are far superior to the spuds Clarkson has. Not excusing Alistair but a lot of this is on the assistant coaches. We have heard Clarkson has stood back to let them do the tactical side of thingsI remember every time wed lose under Brad, he would say "we expected the opposition to...."

I dont know the ins and outs of who and why. Just for clarity, Im not giving him a pass. He’s the boss so it falls on his head.Didn't we give him free reign to pick his own assistants?
I thought the same. I mentioned in another thread that even though he started the game like last weeks poor performance was the new standard it looked to my eye live that he started to play his role better as the game wore on (with little reward). In the 3rd & 4th quarter he was one of the few running the wings with pace and intent. More of them need to be willing to run, particularly if we don't have control of the middle. It is clear now that with this team it either dominates centre clearances (and can maul even strong teams) or it is ineffective. Midfield needs a reset and IMO happy to see some sacrificial lambs to prove the point. We are in a position where we need to have more accountability, not back players in constantly who only do what they need to every 3rd or 4th week.Because no one works hard to provide options down the wings. For all the criticism RHJ got, there were several times we tried to switch to his side of the ground and he was literally the only player moving.
Barlow is a development coach. I doubt he has much input into line coaching.Fair enough. Just feels like 18 months ago we were lauding his ability to attract high profile assistants like Clarke, Adcock and Barlow, now they're no good?
Why not get the ball at half back and kick long over the centre and get our forwards to move up and have the midfield streaming forward. So stagnateGot the be able to have a plan b
