Let's face it. We won 3 and should have been at least 5 (Pies and Godees). If we don't win 7 or 8 then it's been a disappointing year. I see 7 as par for us.
I reckon 7-8 should be bare minimum target with our fixture and a decent injury run.

Probably what I am saying. We have recruited experience - need results. Not negotiable.
Yep.

Even though a guy like Darling has been clearly at the back end I think people underestimate how compromised we were structurally this year with our list. We made Pink - who was a hail mary - and Teakle, our mid season pick essentially core parts of our structure to play out the year and played better.

An early upset win against the Dogs or Dees would be a real boost for all the players and could be the catalyst for an improved season. It's a reasonably difficult start to the season with Adelaide at Adelaide Oval and Gold Coast at the Wineries probably our two "easiest" games in the first seven rounds. I'd hate to be 0-7 going into the game against the Bombers.

I have a bad feeling that Adelaide are going to shoot up to being finalists next year, potentially even top four. Just a vibes-based reading. Regardless, knocking them off at Adelaide Oval would be a milestone win for us lol

The Dees at Marvel sound very vulnerable.

We have to be on the up or we are going to be the worst performing team in the history of the AFL.

All these changes (Clarko) has then been a waste also.

We would have to reset again

Over the journey I'm not one to doom and gloom about the club dying (in one form or another), and other than being pissed at the media talk about it damaging our brand I've actually been pretty dismissive of the idea. But Clarko getting the arse and us resetting AGAIN? AFL house will make moves to seize control of the situation one way or another.

Well, it would be clear that the board would be out on its arse in a flash.

Yeah it would be a ****ing disaster tbh

That's why Its time to start climbing up the ladder. Enough is enough

Oh no doubt in my mind they do now. Cumming, Neal bullen, Draper and peatling are all upgrades on the shit trucks they had like Murphy, jones, McHenry et al

When he took the reins, he was clearly 100% invested and we just got over the line in the first two games (with a healthy dose of Clarko antics on the side) before things started going to shit. I remember thinking during the second quarter of that R1 win, after Bergman, LDU and Zurhaar combined for a bloody smooth goal, holy shit, this is what a football team looks like. That was his second quarter in charge and things were already turning.

If he rediscovers that passion, and if it hasn't been extinguished by events out of the club's control, I think it would be a massive, massive stabiliser for the club. There's just something incredibly empowering about the thought of a stable and focused Clarko holding the reins. More empowering than any possible player rotation we could come up with.

With a fully functional coach, 11th or so in 2025 is a cinch. And finals in 2026. Even as a seasoned pessimist, I have no problem laying out that expectation. But these things can't be forced. The cards fall kindly, or they don't. Make it ****ing so

The lady selling Bánh mì outside the Love Cafe in the Old Quarter of Hanoi only had red chillies and definitely no olives. She was very confused by me asking for the bun without pâté. But what I can say is that the bread was WAY better than any bread rolls I've ever had in Australia. There was a guy who'd be selling the bread to the Bánh mì stalls. I'd buy a couple of buns from him just to snack on for morning tea. They were delicious.
Actually grabbed one from there last week when I was in Hanoi.

Well, the girls beat them there just a couple of months ago. So that's something.
Was almost 30 years ago when I went there. The set up for foreign tourists was pretty minimal. Pho was plentiful, as were spring rolls. The chickens were scrawny but I do recall that pork was fairly often on the menu along with prawns and seafood. But meals were small and I often found the need for an extra meal most days.
