Let's face it. We won 3 and should have been at least 5 (Pies and Godees). If we don't win 7 or 8 then it's been a disappointing year. I see 7 as par for us.

I reckon 7-8 should be bare minimum target with our fixture and a decent injury run.Let's face it. We won 3 and should have been at least 5 (Pies and Godees). If we don't win 7 or 8 then it's been a disappointing year. I see 7 as par for us.
Probably what I am saying. We have recruited experience - need results. Not negotiable.I reckon 7-8 should be bare minimum target with our fixture and a decent injury run.

An early upset win against the Dogs or Dees would be a real boost for all the players and could be the catalyst for an improved season. It's a reasonably difficult start to the season with Adelaide at Adelaide Oval and Gold Coast at the Wineries probably our two "easiest" games in the first seven rounds. I'd hate to be 0-7 going into the game against the Bombers.
I have a bad feeling that Adelaide are going to shoot up to being finalists next year, potentially even top four. Just a vibes-based reading. Regardless, knocking them off at Adelaide Oval would be a milestone win for us lol
The Dees at Marvel sound very vulnerable.

Over the journey I'm not one to doom and gloom about the club dying (in one form or another), and other than being pissed at the media talk about it damaging our brand I've actually been pretty dismissive of the idea. But Clarko getting the arse and us resetting AGAIN? AFL house will make moves to seize control of the situation one way or another. We have to be on the up or we are going to be the worst performing team in the history of the AFL.
All these changes (Clarko) has then been a waste also.
We would have to reset again
Well, it would be clear that the board would be out on its arse in a flash.Over the journey I'm not one to doom and gloom about the club dying (in one form or another), and other than being pissed at the media talk about it damaging our brand I've actually been pretty dismissive of the idea. Last win at Adelaide Oval - 2006?
Didn’t we beat Adelaide there in 2020?Never won at A.O. Last win was '11 or '12 v Tarps at Footy Park![]()
Oh no doubt in my mind they do now. Cumming, Neal bullen, Draper and peatling are all upgrades on the shit trucks they had like Murphy, jones, McHenry et alI have a bad feeling that Adelaide are going to shoot up to being finalists next year, potentially even top four. Actually grabbed one from there last week when I was in Hanoi. The lady selling Bánh mì outside the Love Cafe in the Old Quarter of Hanoi only had red chillies and definitely no olives. She was very confused by me asking for the bun without pâté. But what I can say is that the bread was WAY better than any bread rolls I've ever had in Australia. There was a guy who'd be selling the bread to the Bánh mì stalls. I'd buy a couple of buns from him just to snack on for morning tea. They were delicious.
Was it as good as I remember?Actually grabbed one from there last week when I was in Hanoi.
Pretty good, but not the most hygienic looking place but then again in the Old Quarter none of them are but taste great. Get yourself some Bun Cha while in Hanoi? Was it as good as I remember?
Well, the girls beat them there just a couple of months ago. So that's something.Last win over the crows in Adelaide was 2003. Port 2011.Gotta be a record for a Vic club.
Was almost 30 years ago when I went there. The set up for foreign tourists was pretty minimal. Pho was plentiful, as were spring rolls. The chickens were scrawny but I do recall that pork was fairly often on the menu along with prawns and seafood. But meals were small and I often found the need for an extra meal most days.Well, the girls beat them there just a couple of months ago. So that's something.
I have been in thought over our coaching situation for a while now. I would say the internal worry on our coaching is probably warranted.
Jed Adcock, X clarke and Patch just arent up to it. Far too inexperienced, our back line and forward line is mud, defensive pressure pox, likewise forward pressure.
In previous eras in Alistair’s coaching he would have senior people to push back against some of his decisions in game and he produced some great coaches underneath him that went on for success on their pat malones.
I ask myself, out of the coaches underneath him right now.. who could walk out tomorrow and coach their own AFL team? None, thats the answer.
We should have an experienced assistant coach in that mix. Someone to challenge Clarkson in the box. It may have happened when we saw Sheezel moved and some other sneaky little changes mid 2024 but too little too late.
Personally, I believe its not good enough.. Too budget driven and cheap.
Luke Beveridge, Damien Hardwick, Adam Simpson and Chris Fagan all served as assistant coaches to Clarko and they weren’t experienced. I’m happy to give the coaches we have this year to see what they can do.I have been in thought over our coaching situation for a while now.
