Great. Because part of me thinks that the impetus for this is so the AFL can say how thoroughly they keep track of this stuff and that everything's above board. The AFL could just be as sick of hearing about this as Geelong supporters are.

Maybe

The AFL may try to sweep things under the carpet but if they can't then sanctions need to apply. Caro is often on the money and salary cap cheating is serious so you can understand how other clubs would be jacked if true

It would be if you were coaching a rabble.

Famously, Geelong have the least amount of "contact hours" at the club because they treat people like adults and assume they'll be doing the right thing. Scotty included.

Besides, that's already been ticked off - twice.
More time for the players to find and spend time on dodgy 3rd party deals ;)

The funniest thing about this thread is a bunch of people suddenly think Caro’s a great journalist, and those rebutting are using information from Tom “upstanding citizen” Morris.

Things people will do to justify a position for their own club or against a rival 😂
Caro desperately trying to make it a story makes me think it's bullshit, but Damo implying "nothing to see here" makes me think there's something in it. I'm so confused, please help.

Dangerfield bought that property in 2016 for $2.08 million, looking like this, having been last sold for $26,000 in 1983.

Then put out a planning permit to build a $1.2 million house on it. This is all public information.

Scott Pendlebury was 49 years into his AFL career before he could afford that house!

No one has ever claimed that Scott Pendlebury and Lance Franklin are playing for under market value to keep a team together...

See it works better when you provide some proof or else you end up looking a bit silly like that Richmond supporter up above. It's amazing what you can find on the world wide web these days.
Adelaide have effectively short-circuited this situation by informing Geelong - and Dangerfield - that it would have matched Dangerfield's contract offer of an estimated $5 million over six years.

Can I get a recap of what the jealous losers gallery has said today STPer18

Oh, and Duckimus Prime that last comment dude. Really?! Dangerfield from Adelaide to Geelong under market value?!?

Forced to match his contract offer, and forced to trade for a RFA. Handsomely too I might add.

Professional AFL footballer bought $2 million property after spending eight years in the sport as well as recently signing a $5 million contract is causing some concern.

Imagine trying to argue that a restricted free agent hasn't gone for unders on a contract when its been matched by the current club...

Needs to audit the players property too, how much they bought their houses for compared to the market rate of those houses.

Would it come as any surprise that buying a property in Grovedale or Winchelsea is going to provide significantly better value to one in Port Melbourne or Kew??

Ie might look like getting more but not actually.
