Re the post match concerts.

If tickets are sitting around $30 for both Port and Crows members, I can't imagine that it would translate into much profit.

This is why I will never become a Western stand/SANFL Member, as why pay more money and have to get to the game two hours before the game to get a seat undercover?? Yes, I know you can reserve a seat in this area, but at $200 plus its a ridiculous add on! Give me my Reserved seat any day, I can rock up 5 mins before bounce down (I did this a lot last year) and sit comfortably in my under cover seat, if I did this in the Western stand, I would need to sit out in the open, No Thanks.
It's not an SANFL member anymore, it changed to being under the clubs a few years ago I believe..
There's not that many times you need a seat undercover, and many people won't be undercover in the rest of the stadium (they're the ones more likely to move to the Western stand I mean)..
If you are undercover and have a good seat, I can see why you don't want to move though..

Some people also don't like sitting in the same seat with the same people around them game after game after season after season..
It does get tedious and played out.. We were so glad to move from AAMI Stadium just to get away from a few people near us :D

Re the concerts.

I don't get why anyone pay and it has nothing to do with the Power organizing it as my opinion would be the same if the Crows were organizing it.

The location is at Memorial Drive and that is an open air venue. People will line up for buses on the South Bank Plaza and be able to hear it. That won't entice them to then go inside for an extra $30. The volume will travel to the Southbank plaza and many will just listen there.

It also then become even more problematic in the latter rounds, in June, July or August when it's the middle of winter. If it's a cold and wet night, no one will hang around if it's after a night match as they will just want to get home or to their next point of call where they can get out of the winter air. No one (well very few as no one is an exaggeration) will be excited about.

The people I can see going to this event will be die hard band fans and a few extra people from the winning club.

Why wouldn't they just run it as a before the game concert and have the band play on the ground as a pregame thing.

Because the Clubs enjoy bleeding every last drop of blood from their supporters.

It raises this issue about $18 for a bloody trial game at Richmond Oval - its just so wrong.

*cut for space saving*

I suppose we should be grateful for getting reserved seats at all?

I checked them out on Wednesday, and they're undercover, but much further around the oval than we've had at AAMI for the past several years. We'll be more exposed to the weather, not that there should be too much coming from the northern end, hopefully).

We had an ideal set up at AAMI, with great seats in the Western Stand, a car park on Max Basheer reserve, and exit times from that car park never being longer than 10 minutes.

As a 22 game member with no reserved seat I don't mind the 2 hours pre game meal and drink to get my usual seat under cover, slightly less crowded for Crows games than the rush for the best posiable view of the free choice seats and Port Power games most of the time could just rock up anyway and still get the same seat.

I did think of getting recerved seats if we could get an isle seat to just show up as the ball is bounced full of beer.

I'm a bit disappointed that there isn't many photos from Yesterday's training session. C'mon guys, Post some photos!! :D

I was not at the training session, but as I was in Adelaide overnight for work, I thought I would wander down to the Oval and see if I could get in. There was a number of conferences on including the club launch, however there was no noticeable security so I want for a wander. Here are some pics I took.

And finally, the Lindsey Head Terrace overlooking the city.

I have to say I am extremely jealous of this new ground and cant wait to come over for a game.

I believe it's behind the Southern stand.

Great photos, and good work on getting in without being spotted. Surprised you were able to get up to the top of the Riverbank stand.

Did you happen to snap the progress of the outside of the Eastern Stand's landscaping? Last time I saw it (two weeks) it was a dirt mound.

Has anyone seen this??
An artist's impression of Adelaide oval back in 2011:

Notice how the eastern stand has that carnival style roof that the previous stand had. Glad they didn't redevelop it like this. It looks horrible.

Thanks. As long as you look like you belong, you will generally be left alone.

Hows this?

Drove passed the AO tonight, looks bloody amazing.

Regardless of which local team we support - we should be Adelaide Proud with this world class stadium, its a colossus.

I have had good memories at AAMI, sad that it is no more, but AO is built for today and the future.

It it the rear of the Riverbank stand, level 5 (I think).
yep, level 5. It was absolutely buzzing on Australia Day at the cricket, fantastic spot up there.

highlight for me though is entering through the southern stand and looking straight out onto the ground! I felt like I was running the drinks at the cricket, awesome sensation.

EDIT:^I haven't seen the goal posts in but I'm sure they'd be the regular height. Just you wait til you go there mate, the roof is HUGE!!
