So you know for a fact it’s not coming out this year…
Obviously if it comes out in 2026, it will have the 2026 fixture instead.
But since it has already been classified, that suggests it will be a likely 2025 release.

AFL 23 improved massively since launch. We need to appreciate Big Ant for that.

I bought 23 half price on steam then refunded it after about a half hour.
Just didn’t feel good to play.
That being said I’m glad they’re at least getting another shot at it after completely butchering it last time around. If it’s a choice between no AFL game and Big Ant building on their failed version I’d take the latter.

It sounded like you were privvy to extra information rather than him asking for your what you thought.
It's a fair question given AFL23 was a disaster at best. None of their other releases seem to have improved their reputation either.

reality is we wont know either way until it launches!
If I were a betting man I'd say they would be doing everything possible to not have a repeat of the 23 launch.
But proof will be in the pudding, the onus is on them to gain back the launch trust of consumers.

People have been saying this about every single game launch they have done, not just AFL.
Despite that, at no point have they proven they have the ability, or perhaps want, to actually release a complete, functional game at launch.
I was just about to reply with the same response. Every game has launched terribly and a few have turned out ok. Some of the cricket games have become playable after numerous patches.
It's also interesting the reputation of the streamers allowed to view/promote the game prior. Last time the game was positive by most who got an early look and it turned out to be the worst AFL game at launch. Not sure the different game they were playing.
But seems like a few are back promoting the Big Ant brand. Also skeptical of someone 'coming across the classification' as well. But maybe I'm just not as trusting anymore.

AFL 23 became what was promised at launch. They did not go over and above. They took 18 months to deliver their launch promises.
That's the bare minimum.
If I order a pizza for dinner and they deliver me an empty base, then a base with sauce, then add some cheese, then at lunch time tomorrow they actually put the toppings on it, that's not really worthy of appreciation. That's just giving me what I paid for way later than I paid for it.
That's a plot twist
