Haven’t read your post, on a brief scan can see you’re banging on about your team, which I have no interest in.
You said if you get on top of 3 players you will win. I was pointing out we have a lot more than that who have been behind our success so far. The end.
Okay bud. Good luck on Saturday. Hopefully the best team on the day wins :thumbsu:

I doubt that a Crows-Suns match has ever been so interesting.
Could be the start of a new rivalry? Seems like an unlikely pairing for a rivalry, but we have seen it happen before with two teams that rise at the same time like West Coast and Sydney in the 2005-06 seasons. Plus, we have the Rankine situation that's obviously a bit of a sore point for players and supporters at the Suns. I'm expecting Rankine to receive a good amount of boos on Saturday and I think he's yet to have a big game against the Suns to date IIRC.

I don't believe Tex will will be the deciding factor, Rachele is a huge out aswell but this will be an awesome game. Proper test for both teams. If the GC midfield are on then it will be hard for Adelaide to contain them

Rachele is a loss for sure but not as big you might think. I think he'll be replaced by either Pedlar or Taylor both capable of hitting the scoreboard. If it's Murphy then Crow's will lose.

Confidently tipping Adelaide in this one.

Gold Coast have beaten absolute rubbish so far, two of the clear worst three sides in the league, while Adelaide have beaten teams that have won at least one game.

Gold Coast's season starts this weekend as far as I'm concerned. I'll start taking notice of them if they beat a decent side. Until now they've beaten two absolutely atrocious footy clubs and it was more about how bad the oppo were as opposed to how good the Suns were.

The big questions that needs to be asked.

Can the Suns win at home?

and what's this crazy idea of playing 2 weeks in a row?

Mark my words: Adelaide will run away with this game. I think the Suns are overrated. They get hyped up because of their midfield—which is good—but what about the rest of their team?

Well, Ben King is currently 2nd on the goalkicking, even though he's only had 2 games, kicking 10 of the 38 goals we've kicked so far.

and the defense can't be too bad...holding the opposition to 7 & 8 goals.

So 38 goals for, 15 goals against....Yep it's clearly all just 3 or 4 players in the midfield.

In the first two games there haven't been any passengers, midfield gets type for good reason but the Suns are well rounded atm.

Not especially likely, but if they both have veins of form at the same time it's possible. The Crows already have a rivalry with Port that transcends temporary form.

You ever sit down to watch a game knowing your team wont and cant win? well that's the vibes i am getting about this one. Crouch a big out and Rachele out hurts. i think this could be a 5 or 6 goal loss tomorrow for the Crows.

As I mentioned above, you have to consider who Gold Coast have beaten in their 2 games.
Two absolutely atrocious sides and you can't take much out of those results.

Then you're not the team the media are hyping up.
Adelaide should be past that level where their supporters are still expecting to lose certain games.

To be fair after being crap for a long time winning 3 matches against sides who missed the 8 last year doesn't exactly just wash everything away. It's been an excellent start & the game style is exciting so reason for some optimism but not time to get carried away just yet.

2 potentially big up & coming sides this week, it's a great chance for both sides to get an idea of where they sit at present.

No doubt there will be over reactions to whomever loses is probably the most certain part of it. Reality is it's a long season so all sorts can happen between now & the end as a side like Hawthorn showed all too well last year. Brisbane too given they looked shot & then won a flag.

To be fair, the Crows have played at home twice in three games and wins over Essendon + North aren't really anything to rave about. The St Kilda game could turn out to be a good win, but I could also see the Saints falling off and missing the finals this year too. I think this week is the first time both sides have faced legitimately strong opposition this season and the winner should be eyeing off a top 4 spot with their strong undefeated start to the season.

Gold Coast by 3 goals.
If Adelaide win they're the real deal.
If not, finals team not top 4.
How's that? This is the fourth non-finalist from 2024 they've faced in a row, they've had the easiest early draw. They had similar starts to the season in 2021 and 2023 under Nicks, and fell off.

Very solid defence (although certainly weaker without Ballard)

Forwards definitely the weak spot. But king kicks goals week in and out, long a top player for goals/goal assists/inside 50 tackles from mid 2024 and our mids that play forward are hitting the scoreboard both second half of last year (see Flanders, Graham) and miller.

Go well beyond the midfield.

2023 we lost in rounds 1 and 2 despite playing good football. Ended up costing us finals, even though we picked up afterwards.
