Should be an interesting game. Hawthorn have the advantage of playing in round 0.
I think it'll be tight for much of the game before Hawthorn pull away to win by about 20-30 points. It's been a while since we've lost to them.

We have to win the midfield and ruck battles to be a chance because we simply don't have the defenders to counter Hawthorn's smalls/resting mids. Even that, Hawthorn's interceptors can nullify much of our forwardline so we're going to be reliant on the likes of Perkins and Martin to impact the scoreboard.

Durham should get the job on Day and McGrath on Moore.

going to be a interesting one..
looking forward to what the Don's roll out, they need a first up opening season statement.
Hawks to strong - 30p

Should be a regulaton win for us, but probably won't be. A quarter of a century out from their last flag, and more than two decades from their last finals win, the dons always seem to play their Grand Final against us, arguably their fiercest rival.

Will that be enough to get them over the line? Could be. It won't surprise me....

No wonder the Dons burn out mid season, they're playing grand finals in rd 1.

Think it will be win for the Hawks somewhere between 20-30 points.

Essendon to keep it close until some point in the third where the Hawks will bang a couple on without reply. Then the last quarter will be evenish again.

Solid defender, aggressive and good skills. I'm looking forward to seeing Dear get out there soon. How's he tracking?
Few weeks away yet, I think they were saying he should be back around Gather round, but others will know more.

Sounds like a great pick up for your lot.
