Wouldn't you prefer the day extra break into the next final if you need it?

Plus the AFL just gave us 6:10 on a Sunday soooo.

So you're OK with opening your season with the Tigers on Friday then?

Top 4 teams deserve Friday Night/Saturday Night as a reward for finishing top 4.

Eliminations Should be Thursday night/Saturday Arvo.

I honestly wouldn't care? But not sure what the finals have to do with round one :/

Sydney for mine the balloon was pricked for carlton v gws last night and not too sure ono how they will respond now that the streak is now over.

Tight game the swans just to get up by 8 points.

But its a 50/50 for mine can go either way.

This time-slot should have been Pies vs Dees.

The AFL love giving the Blues Prime time Friday night slot

Personally would prefer it. Obviously not about crowd numbers. Maybe, just maybe, AFL is trying to give you an advantage with extra rest?

I understood it to be rested - Pitto looked like the walking dead last week.

Hope they don’t think that - TDK struggled against the GWS ruck.

I thought he was very good. Beat Briggs. Had more tap outs, possessions and a better player rating. Allows us another mobile player which is vital. Not one side in the 8 is going with Two genuine Rucks. Even Melbourne won't play Gawn/Grundy as it doesn't work

Look at the finals combos

Pies - Cameron/McStay
Melb - Gawn/Van Rooyen
Bris - McInerney/Daniher
Saints - Marshall/Hayes
Swans - Hickey/McLean
GWS - Briggs/O'Keefe
Port - Lycett/Finlayson

How long since two rucks played in a GF. Be handy but the loss of another runner is huge

Papley back will be a lift for the swans.

Cripps, Docherty, Motlop and Pitto were are all rested V Giants, so good to see them back.

The one thing you miss above is the weight of a an MCG full with Blues supporters - 95000 members all in full voice.

Melb is a bad comparison in that instance.
I find it amusing that people on here think the Swans have no supporters in Melbourne

Reckon the Swans. Pains me to say it, but our turnover game sucks.

If we win though, it sets up a fun game between the loser of the Pies and Demons at the 'G the week after which could be huge if the Dees get up over the Pies in W1 and its a Collingwood/ Carlton final.
It was quite evident yesterday, against a lesser team at home. Has to be a concern.

Also, I think people are forgetting that Voss is not proven as a final coach. Horse on the other hand..

I wouldn't call GWS a lesser team

Swans have had a history of bundling Carlton out of finals. They match up well against Carlton and I would be surprised if they don’t get over the line.
The 10 in a row or whatever it was, won't count for anything if they lose to the Swans because of yesterdays result. If they'd won yesterday and played the Dogs, they would have basically had a free pass to the semis.

As much as I don't love it.

I can see why we were flat in a game that really meant nothing to our position. We have been up for 9 weeks. Beaten 5 top 8 teams during that time.

I'll back in that ahead of 1 off game with a few rested and a few back from injury
