Agree 100pct but lets not forget that TT, Simpkin, and LDU had interrupted seasons. That said even if those played every game still a top 5 if not 3 finish, massive upside and expect him to be right up there in the Syd Barker in 2024 (alongside aforementioned players and Wardlaw.)

Who would you have that ad a higher ceiling since the duck times?

For me competition is Boomer (not including Corey M as he was the same time as Duck), Dish, Goldy, D Wells. I never saw one of those capable of being the best in the game. Wellsy close.

LDUs best like last years early year form or Adelaide game the year before for me is the leagues best player.

He’s the type of player that can have the most influence on a game of football.

The ability to win the football in a contest and create an overlap by being able to draw multiple opponents.

I said that when he was drafted. My bros thought I was crazy. I doubted for a bit too.
But I really can’t think of anyone who can be the consistent gun that he can once he gets the support he needs and run of games required to settle into awesomeness.

While its good to have different opinions on this, I have absolutely no doubt that Luke will be our best player since Wayne. I know we've had some great players in the last twenty odd years but Luke will show people this year how good he can be. As I said in one of the posts late last year, I badly wanted Luke so much at the Draft but thought we're not going to get him, then fate or whatever you believe in had something to say about that.

Again I will state I think Luke can not only be a champion player for us but be the best midfielder in the AFL. I don't make this call lightly as I think we all know what he's up against, and I know some think he can be very good, I've gone a step further and like a couple of posters on here, think he will be the benchmark in years to come.

Ignoring physical/athletic/skill profiles, I think there are certain mentality things that prevent 99% of all footballers from having the ceiling of Carey just right off the bat. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there is a reason why you will be hard pressed to find any player to be so dominant and so feared.
