Watching the other teams play at such a high level with a clear functional gameplan, with quality players who can execute, makes you realise how far behind we are, it’s depressing we are so s**t.

We 100% have to rebuild part 2, we don’t have the midfield to get near these teams.

******* Ogilvie. He’s ****ed us so bad. He can’t be here for it.

And Nicks has to be moved on.

I remember saying during 2022 that the club had to either fire Nicks or Olgivie at the end of the season.

It was either the recruiting that was the issue or the development and the club needed to work out which and act accordingly.

At the time I thought the club would be doing itself a disservice if both of them stayed, yet here we are two years later still with no idea which one is the issue and they're both still at the club!!!

I’m pretty certain the majority of them he Board have very little input to on field performance or selection. With Jameson having served his max allowable time (10yrs) and Roo finishing his ten year tenure this year. Currently, we have one (Roo) ex footballer on the board. With AFL owned teams , Members are only allowed to vote on 2 new board members .The boards role is primarily corporate duties and if footy governance issues arise, I’m betting they take the advice of the ex player. Our board looks pretty similar to most AFL owned clubs , lots of Olsen’s much loved “diversity “. Compare this to Collingwood’s board -5 ex footballers ( members voted for).. until we get out license back, don’t hold out for any change.

Can you advise when this 10 year rule came in and where is the announcement or amendment to our constitution?

As it stands, you can serve as an appointed director for a term of 12 years (4 terms of 3 years). An elected director is 8 years (4 terms of 2 years). Therefore Roo is there until 2026.

Now if the term hasn’t been changed to 10 years, perhaps it is just a coincidence but Nicks extended tenure ends the same time as Roo’s.

What was Roo doing from 14-18?

If we use our 1st on Petty this year, i'll cry and after that, i will stop going to home games next year. I hope that we have welsh coming in that they just won't be able to justify another tall (petty) and can use what draft capital we have on the best mid available
Agree would be stupidity to give up our first - loooking like a top 6 pick where elite mids are in abundance - on a reasonable swing man who is a FA 12 mths down the track. And considering we got Curtin unexpectedly after the Petty attempt.

Zero chance we go for Petty this year IMO

Even the outs I can live with, both guys we weren't willing to pay the price for given durability history - neither of which have played a single game yet.

That said, unable to identify/bring in anyone from another team was a massive failing. Maybe we shot our shot and got turned down, but there should still be talent to identify somewhere that will improve our list.
Yeah no sane person could be wishing we offered Dude 5 years at 550-650k after his 3 ACL. We dodged a massive bullet, got over compensated (end of first) with Worrell likely to exceed into the future

I agree 110% about oglive, nicks is to nice, a good bloke I'm sure but not ruthless enough to coach afl, I'm 90% ready for the club to part ways with him. But I'm 150% ready for the AFC board to step down and get some people in the club that make good Holistic Decisions..
Rebuild phase 2 needs to commence now, go to the MSD and get 2 quality people who can just football, replacing Milera and Sloane. If Shane Edwards is still at tge club give him Oglives job aw I have a feeling he has a very good eye for talent, perhaps sound out Nathan Buckley for a specialist development coach? Any thoughts big footy fam of who we could target as a dev coach?

Agree with this. I've defended recruitment/talent ID in favour of blaming selection/development. But the club can't have it both ways, they need to act against one or the other.

He has been a director to 2014, not sure what role but has been on board since then.

Again, the issue is once you get appointed you are there for 12 years. Why? Because we as members have no say on appointed directors under our Constitution.

Everyone thinks Chapman stood down at then end of 2020 because of the crap etc.

No he didn’t, he stood down because his twelve years was up!

Are they separate? Roo’s years as elected don’t count towards his 10 years appointed?

Say what you want about them, but Kornes and Kingy on SEN were absolutely scathing of the Crows.

Basically said what we all knew about having a sh*t midfield and a recruiting black hole (2017-2019 )

Its good to see some proper scrutiny and pressure come onto us for a change rather than the previous cop out excuses about rebuilding etc.

Can you remember which part of the show they discussed us?

Was King still saying Nicks is a good coach?

That's what I suspect, they'll treat Roo's tenure as two separate terms.

The reality will be that he's not going anywhere, even with the 10 year rule in place.

He’s got a job to finish, not going to walk out a quarter way through. Surely he’s been involved in enough damaging decisions.

Rowey for some reason is bagging Reid and leaving Hamish alone despite bagging our drafting. Doesn’t compute
