I suspect this sentence (from that article) is true. Trump is way beyond deciding to tell lies. He’s lost all concept of fact or truth.

Common form of conservative evangelicalism, I once held, where the (non biblical) priorities are policing morality of others, building and protecting wealth, and keeping as many foreigners out as possible, bizarrely, given the supposed mission focus.

Yep. Haven't time to look it up right now, but I believe Trump's share of registered voters was something like 31.5% while Harris was 30.5%.

The MAGA crowd call themselves Christians but are up in arms that the Bishop suggested to their lord and saviour Donald Trump that he might show compassion to the poor and meek. They consider the teachings of the New Testament as being contrary to MAGA beliefs and that repeating them in front of Saviour Trump is heretical, rude and dangerous.

Going out on a limb here, because it's hard to say based on Republicans radio silence about these things, but they might just have something against minorities.

I think what Neo-Cons and MAGA don't understand is that by cutting Govt spending, you also slow the economy, since most Govt spending is in-house. Particularly jobs/wages.

This House is going to cut taxes on the wealthy and cut Govt jobs. At the same time as tariffs, insurance, healthcare costs and labour costs are all going to be increasing. Doesn't seem very sustainable to me.

I think we'll get what we're getting in Argentina. Poverty will go up, but so will the stock market and investments (share buybacks, inflationary profits etc.) The rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. I can't see wages exceeding inflation, given the state of pay negotiations in the USA and power of the oligarchs, but that's the hail-mary they'll be wanting to see.
