Player Watch #34: Jack Graham - MOVED TO WCE - PICK 42 Received

Graham has got one flag and is locked into a team favourites to win another. Thanks in huge part to his efforts this year. He'll be a Brando sort of experienced player going to a lowly club. But I want RFC to sign up everyone on our list first (Jack G) before looking at what else is out there. (Crouch)
Diff dynamics to Ellis as he was fa mulling over fattest contract of his career , jack has his footy career in front of him at22 , like I say it can go pear shaped pretty quick at these clubs up Schitt ck

Jack Graham will sign a contract or 3-4 years taking him to free agency then take the big dollars from the Crows when they have rebuilt and primed for a chance at a flag.

Thats what i would do if i was him
From SA and Crows supporter all his life

Yes he has family back in SA, but the Tigers are his home now.

Its been a few years now but he said he had no intentions of leaving the Tigers to return to SA and the only reason he would is if something dramatically changed at Richmond, eg. Our culture etc

Future Captain, not going anywhere.

gee i'd be flat if he left.

can see why carlton are so keen on jg34 with their young mids dow, kennedy, stocker developing a little slower than expected...throwing out the baby with the bathwater a little bit but also making a snap call on their mid mix.

while jack would have an immediate impact and be a big body to take the heat off cripps and win his own ball both, you'd rather pure pace and ball use surely over a bull - which he seems to have developed in the last few months, he's become a real jack-of-all-trades (pardon the pun).

bit toey now.

Tiger71 says confident he'll stay. I'm sure the Tigers will offer better if he's really keen on the Carlton offer. Can't see him not staying, really.

me neither, considering who we have let go in the past and the role he's played in our team.

50 games in, 22 years old, cotch and shedda ageing, playing a larger role in 2020...i mean he's ready to go in our side.

carlton have probably dumped a truckful of money on his doorstep and rightly so he's considering it.

No we don't need accumulators in our team with the current system.
Graham's hardness with lower possessions is more suitable than an expensive get ball kick ball/handball type.
This is correct. Jack, Graham that is has a laser kick on him. I dont mind Crouch (plus then we could say Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon which would be funny, kind of) if you need an inside mid and last year I even thought he'd be a good pick up at the right price. But then he started shopping himself aroundfor $1M a season and really he's not that good. Tends to throw it on the boot.

Jack, Graham that is, is a keeper imo. Unless he wants to go home etc, because his pressure is top class, he's an awesome tackler and he just keeps on keeping on getting the job done. Give him a job, he does the job. Love that kind of footballer.

Leadership material and Cotch's protege. Stay put Jack. Big paydays down the track.

Isn't Zac Willaims going to Carlton? Surely they can't afford him and JG with the amount they're overpayign the rest of their spuds
They’re front loading contracts because they don’t really have many players that command big $$$. Apparently they’ve paid jack Martin a sh*tload this year and that drops off significantly next year.

Absolutely there was some doubts over his shoulder(s) but Jack's back.
Yeah Crouching Tiger (like it) would want crazy coin. Plus we'd have to deCrow him which could take a very long time...

$600k a year over four years.
I wouldn't blame him.

He would get more being part of RFC premierships over the years wouldn't he in the kudos and other benefits associated with RFC's success, there is the tax implications to. Its an interesting one, things could open up for him in a couple of years, could he have his cake and eat it to in terms of timing any moves? He would have other suitors no doubt

CFC might be premature and simply a mismove

True. But his form might also falter as well.
He has been in and out of our side for a while now and while his current form is terrific, there is always a question mark until he is more consistent.
A guaranteed $2.4 million over the next four years would be difficult to knock back.
and as much as we all hate to acknowledge Carlton, they have improved and with Williams and Graham in the side, they won't be easybeats for a while.

I’d take it if I was him if I’m being honest.

Honestly, I would play for RFC for two years and then see what happens.

If I am going to CFC I am not anticipating a premiership let alone contention

What could CFC give RFC in return?? A pick and player?

If I am RFC I would be trying to keep Graham. I am looking at contending for the next ten years and graham could be a big part of that setting records to

The Blues are paying $900k pa for Zac Williams, to go with $800k McGovern and $650k Jack Martin. So they won’t be getting JGTI. Some of the worst list management you could ever wish to see.

And long may it continue?....😉

Agreed.

Although with that much money on offer, I'd hope there would be a similarly loaded offer as trade.
