There was a preseason event thing I went to maybe 5 or 6 years ago with our very own Cam Joyces and a few other assistants in attendance.
Anyway part of it included splitting up into groups and picking mock round 1 teams, I happened to be in a group that included Joyce and for the most part he just kind of sat back and offered little input, but when the discussion turned to KT and his place in the side he piped up and stated in his most serious tone "he is first picked every week mate".

So yeah, not an exaggeration to say that coaches really do love him.
Maybe that's why none of them coach us anymore.

Unsure how we plumbed new depths in Kayne's thread. A reminder that the rules do still apply in this most lawless of towns. Please treat each other with respect and if you must abuse one another please do it in PMs.

Sorry, I still can't bag this kid. I know the "he doesn't pick himself" thing gets ridiculed, but he's one of the most heart and soul lads we've had in the modern era.

If more of those other supposedly more talented players drafted in the 8-9 years since he was picked up had applied themselves with a 10th of his application, then he wouldn't be getting a game.

I'll save my ridicule for blokes who waste our time and dimes wondering if they want to play AFL or would rather play Rugby 7s or go on the Amazing Race.

Hate to bag our players but surely Kayne wouldn't be enjoying his footy at the moment.

Would help both the team and himself to play VFL for a while.

Not sure he will get back in but what will be will be.

He’s getting a game without getting the ball or laying a finger on the opposition.

Yet you’re justifying his selection because we’ve had more talented players at the club?

His output is non-existent. The argument you’re making doesn’t justify him being picked.

And the example posted before as well as his lack of impact in all facets this season quashes any ‘effort’ argument to defend his inclusion.

Has to be out this week. No ifs, ands or buts.

It's a fair point but I think most of the criticism is directed at his continued selection, rather than Kayne the loyal shinboner. The chasm between his abilities and AFL level abilities is often referenced to support the argument that his weekly selection is farcical.

If the club wanted someone to run around a football field for two hours and not get the footy, not pressure anyone into making bad decisions and not kick goals or stop their opponent but display a shitload of heart and soul and passion for the jumper while they did it, then I am more than available and at a far cheaper rate than Kayne

Since you've decided to taken our private chat public - I know for a fact you're the highest paid mod.

They're not going to be able to fit you into a rookie budget.
