I am ready to hate him forever but I would take him back in a heart beat .. Lol
Nah, f*** him. We have never needed or wanted any player who doesn't want to be at the NMFC. I hope his future bank balance makes him the happiest bloke on earth. Is an extra year for security really worth missing out on team glory and playing on the big stage?

Levi could have taken our offer of a 3 year contract. At the end of that 3 year contract, if his form was as good as what it was this year he could have been looking at another 3 year deal worth twice as much money.

I dont want guys at the club who aren't here for the right reasons. **** off you money hungry grub.

Agreed.. he has chosen money over the chance to play in a premiership.. Once the money has gone memory's are all we have left .. Hope he enjoys his.

Ps still would take him back .. Lol

Everyone mistakes when influenced by bad eggs. Everything's alright Levi. We forgive you. Come and give Daddy a hug.
He's a big boy, should be able to look after himself and make grown up decisions one would think. He employs Pickering, not the other way around.

I assume everyone giving him stick here have never switched employers in their life for the chance to earn a better income.

In my opinion, he was our best player this year and has improved remarkably over the last couple of seasons. Sadly, we didn't value him as highly as we should and other clubs have taken advantage of that. He has served us very well and will be greatly missed. No doubt we will be a much weaker team next year without him.

Can't tell if serious. But that's exactly how I'm thinking.

I'm serious.

For me at the end of the day it is about NMFC.

TBH I don't want a draft pick, the chance of getting a player at 25 or whatever the hell it is touted as being is probably ok, I trust our recruiting blokes to get one.

The chances of getting a player at that pick that could slot in and make a difference in the next 2 years, the 2 years we are and have been priming for what are the odds on that?? very low to extremely low?

I think some of the comments here about Levi are a bit harsh. For starters Pickering has a very strong record of playing off one club against another and I have no doubt that he has milked this for all its worth.

Secondly, the offers as we know them deserve some serious comparison. Three years at $350 a year equals $1.05m. Four years at $450 equals $1.8m. Given that the three year deal guarantees nothing after that, a potential gross difference of $750000 is not to be sneezed at.

Put yourselves in his shoes for just a moment. While the extra $750000 is before tax, nevertheless the difference between the two deals has the potential to set him up in a much stronger financial position after football.

I've spent a long time providing financial advice to clients and if he was one of mine and asked me to weigh up the financial benefit versus the possible emotional ties keeping him to North, there would be only one answer that I could reasonably give him. So lay off him. You never know he might still defy that sort of advice and go with his heart rather than his head.

Nah bugger that, burn him. ;). He must do what's best for him, his family and his mental well being.

I'd have him back in a heartbeat. Those of you burning all bridges, imagine that none of these negotiations were public? And after all of this crap (that none of us knew about) Levi re-signed.

Everyone would be happy and no one would know.

Now how often do you think that DOES happen? Guarantee this has happened with some of our favs.

So let's cut the guy some slack.

I can understand where you're coming from, and agree with your sentiment of the success of the club being paramount in any trade talks. In my mind though, I think we have the capability to cover for the loss of Greenhead, in much the same way that we covered the loss of Swallow. Either we'll rejig the midfield with Basti playing more inside, and Higgins playing some of Basti's outside, or we may end up outright replacing his role with Dumont. The pick we get for the trade then get's the required time to develop, much like we have given Dumont and Wood etc.

As for Levi himself. I'm a bit uncomfortable with him staying now to be honest. From all outwards signs our club has managed to build a FANTASTIC culture since Brad took over (not saying it was bad before that!) and I'm not sure if Greenwood returning may rustle a few jimmies. With all that said though, all I think any of us can ask for is some clear messaging from the Pig himself, regardless of which path he takes. I generally subscribe to the "Honesty is the best Policy" handbook for things like this, because it's the best way to prevent innuendo and any festering doubts.

Dont be surprised if collingwood has been pushing this with pickers under the table as well - think about how much bad press they have at the minute

Wouldnt be surprised at all. On one hand Pickering has a crack at North for low balling his gun client thats worth every cent of $450k pa then on the other says pick 30 is a great deal for North. Almost like he's on Collingwood's payroll

Levi is a gun, whether he stays or he goes. I'd have him back in a heartbeat.
Admittedly, i was uber pissed.... not totally because he wanted to leave... but because he wanted to join the FILTH..
