Jen2310 i saw you mention that Smit is training in the backline. I haven’t watched any VFL this season though do you think it’s a move that would suit him?

Hard to say. His first game there was on the weekend. Guess he does have some qualities that would suit the role.

Anyone know if he has played there in juniors?

Could we unleash him Anzac day?, we have form
Young players rise to the occasion of Anzac day. Malthouse would often give a kid a chance.
Hayes is fast and elusive although I haven't followed his VFL form. West has been really good.

Training next week:

Monday & Wed @ 9:30am.

Jen2310 we are flying over from Perth for the big game on Wednesday (arriving in the arvo) and my younger son was looking to catch a training run - is there a captains run or something before Friday that we could catch them at?

Yeah, should be a captains run on thurs. Probably best to get there around 11am. Ive seen them sometimes start at 11 , sometimes at 11:30 so best to be on the safe side.

That’s great news my son will be excited - thanks for the info. You are always a hive of information and its much appreciated by all on here.

Nope was actually pretty warm in the sun. I found a bit of shade for Jingles to be in but he didn’t stay and kept wanting the sun! Lol

Anzac Day Week.
Monday, April 21st.

Training started later than usual this morning at 10:30am. Maybe they had speakers, maybe it was planned (even though they had 9:30am on the website). There was lots of fans that turned up.

Rehab:

Schultz
Macrae
Steene (initially but then joined in the group)
Maynard (Did some early run throughs, before going inside with a trainer)

MIA:

Moore
Bobby

*Lippa did some of the session then disappeared before match sim.

It felt like a lighter session, with some specialised drills, line drills. They then did this kicking drill they haven't done in awhile. You would have three lines of players one at each end, and one in the middle and you would have to kick the ball at the same time as every else in your line to the group behind you.

They did their usual kicking drill, and then some half ground, horizonal match play. Jordy didn't participate. Neither did Mitchell, who both did some running at this point.

Looks like they are trying to get parker into the midfield, and Smit being persisted down back.
