Any excuse to bring up Nick not taking a contested mark. I think the average for a whole team in a game is about 7-8 isn't it?

I thought Ollie Lord from Port was on our radar last year and still seems to be on the outer at Port.
Is there an issue here with Ollie Lord..?
I appreciate we selected West and we want to ensure he gets opportunities to develop and he might be competing for a similar position.

The reason he's on the outer is because he just isn't very good. We'll get a better career out of West

It actually made me chuckle and I thought it was more a clip of Reid because no one cares if Nick takes a contested mark. To me Dan is Kane Cornes without the hypocritical/ vindictive streak. More seriously he’s a one and done player so unless he ups his work rate significantly this will be his second last contract.

He’s not that good. Suggestions last year that we should be trading a first rounder for him based on one good game were psychotic.

He spent preseason doing a lot of ruck work. Assumedly the plan is second ruck, which is an issue area for them. But they've gone in tonight with two rucks. Saldo is probably going to play forward ruck. Seems silly to me. Saldo is a terrible forward. Lord will get games at some stage, because their options are all bad ones, but they mustn't rate him.

I think people were seduced by how he was crashing packs as a 21yo thinking that once he loses the puppy fat and starts clunking them he’ll be a menace. The problem is he’s Tristen Walker 2.0.
Maybe it clicks because he really flies for them, but talls that are horrible set shots and trampoline it like Dawes don’t really appeal to me. He’ll also be 24 by the time he plays his first game for us and he’s still a project…

I'm chips in on West. We need to nurture him right though and give him time like Hawkins, Darcy, Larkey etc and not expect a return on investment until years 3 or even 4. Have him kicking consistent bags at VFL level and hopefully still have old heads like Checkers or McStay guiding him in his first few dozen games whether that's this year, next year or 2027. Patience with big blokes is something that's hard to comprehend at times for most

I have a mate in Perth that's known him for years.
Asked him last week and pretty much said he would be really surprised if he left.
Established and set up in Perth and currently building a huge house.
I think he stays.
