What a contrast in skill level. The Brisbane side look like they have been training and playing together for years. We look like a side that just met last week, there is no synergy of team work at all. Even our AFL listed players cant seem to hit a target or maintain possession. The only stat we would be winning would be hit outs.
😱😱😱

It's almost as if the team is only made up of one Sandringham listed player from last season and the rest mainly St Kilda draftees or recruits since the end of last season.

😏

Seen enough.

Next week - Wilkie, Howard as key defenders with Tauru as 3rd intercepting tall.

Caminiti to FF

I've seen enough to think he looks a great prospect but would rather let him keep building in the VFL than throw him to the wolves at AFL level now.

Definitely needs to build some and round out his game before being ready for the seniors. Sometimes a forward find it easier at AFL level than VFL (Sharman a good example) but that's not the case for defenders.

I think its more decision making with Trav.

Like that one into the corridor just now. Just didn't see the Lions player there to intercept..

It will improve.

Literally saw him a few times lose sight of his oppo around a contest, just stood there, spun on the spot to take a look, look left and right, saw an oppo exiting the contest and then had the "aha" and moved to man him.

Trav is just a bit lost this match, not the only one but you get the feel he wants to be literally anywhere else.

Maybe it looks like it, but I struggle to believe any of these guys want to be somewhere else, unless they’re dealing with mental health issues, which hopefully isn’t the case.

It’s more reasonable to think that some of the young guys are still learning, maybe a bit unsure of themselves at times.

Overall, I’m happy with the attitude of all our young players.

pretty fair representation of saints listed players(12)today in a home game,im not going to check who and who isnt lions listed, but i recognise 7 names and some of them aint much chop and im tipping the lions listed i dont recognise are either 18/19 or spuds,we are way way off it

we are not even close are we?

i think its time to go on a full on wingeing spree, the club that is,starting with tearing into the afl about this equalisation BULLSHIT,starting with telling them we expect anzac day 2026 to feature st.kilda vs any of 7 victorian clubs exc collingwood and essendon,or at least 2 clubs other than those 2 and tell us what season between 2026-29 are we slotted in?

if not we are not fair dinkum,we are being face fxxked by the afl and we are bending over for seconds, pathetic

anzac day is the most obvious start to call the bastards out, tell us when its our turn or tell us straight that equalisation is a load of shxt and bend over and just take it

ps they said it yesterday in the commentary, these games are a selling point for players to go to these clubs, for mine that makes it unequal,we gotta push that

Is it a bit concerning that our pick 8 doesn't seem to be particularly skilled? He's a goer...but I don't see much class.
didn't see today's game but last week his hands were elite in tight, looked very good in the contest, managed to get some very deft handballs out when I was sure his arms were pinned

He's fine

Plenty of elite transition mids that aren't elite kicks; LDU, Serong, Brayshaw, Anderson etc

Would've been pick 1 if he was one though

Trav is still working out the game at this level but his disposal under pressure, his choices are not great. He’s going to need to work hard at Sandy this year and demand a spot through demonstrated improvement but from what I saw today that won’t happen any time soon.

I sincerely hope you're right and my assessment is off. But this kinda looks like another pick based on running capacity and attitude to me
That’s my worry too
It’s early so let’s wait
Can’t fault the endeavour type but does he have the polish under pressure in a big moment game to pull off that kick
I look at Wilson - gut running goer but geez decision making and foot skills at times scare me it’s this stuff that holds sone guys back from elite
Geez hope that’s not the case
