I am not sure if this is the right place to post this so apologies if not. Bucky went down to the Monday viewing( sort of training) of the Carlton boys.

I hate to say it, but the last 4 weeks have drained so much enthusiasm from me that I probably won't even watch the game on the weekend.

Watching some of the YouTube Blues channels (Blue Abroad etc) I don't think I have ever seen the level of resentment, disappointment and apathy that the Club has created. They are in very real trouble of losing a very large % of the supporter base unless they turn things around quickly.

These social media channels, along with the cesspool that is X now, have riled up the most toxic sections of our supporter base. I wish they'd stop.

That's not his fault, every player would say that. That is just weak selection of the match committee and coaching staff. The whole selection of that side last year was one big "Hail Mary." There would be very few players who can come back in for a final after a long lay off and perform. Gary Ablett snr probably the only player I can think of off the top of my head.
Disagree. It is his fault as he was thinking more about himself than the team. Was it Prestagiacomo who pulled out of a GF because he didn't think he could give it all after a layoff???
Jut because we was physically given the green light by the medicos doesn't make him match fit...and he knows that!!!
Selfish BIG TIME by Docherty
Moronic by Voss and the MC

This is the way of public life. For the most part what i watch is the truth. Have to call it as you see it. No point wearing rose colored glasses. You don't need social media to rile up Carlton fans the club and players do a great job of that on their own.

On X (formerly Twitter), hate to say it, but Carlton fans are the most repulsive. They weren't the past couple of years but this year they are particularly bad.

Because they are fed up. Remember when we started our rebuild? The club saying short term pain for long term gain. Carlton supporters were amazingly accepting of this because of the promise we were building for sustained success. Now look where we are. Brisbane started their rebuild around the same time. How are they going? Hawks started way after us and how they looking? I am sure there are other examples also. Carlton have taken their supporters to their limits. They are tired of the bs and rightfully angry about it. Thay have an emotional and monetary investment in the club. When the club wants their money the club go all out for it. Supporters want to see that something actual good is happening at the club. Near on 30yrs of bs now.

He's been doing it for years.

Rewatched the 'last two minutes' in the 2023 semi to make myself feel a little better. Even in that limited sample size there's a McGovern off balance dump kick to the advantage of a Melbourne player on the wing - and this is after we have grabbed the lead. Desperation of Hollands, TDK, Kennedy saved him.

It's just particularly bad this year. Errant hand balls, kicks off the ground when in space, panicked hacks to nobody.

His very first act as a defender was to drop a simple chest mark in the opening seconds of the traditional opening game of the season against Richmond to gift Dusty a goal. IMO over a long period of time his bad errors have far outweighed his good work.

I would say he is the worst recruit we’ve ever had but it’s hard to tell who’s been worse out of him and Williams. IMO Voss needs to drop both (and Doc) this week as they’ve all had enough chances now. Unfortunately I doubt Voss will.

This is a quote from Lyon regarding Mitch McGovern:

“Mitch McGovern is probably another I would look to move. He's had 17 turnovers and seven of them have directly gone back and cost Carlton a goal – the worst in the competition."

That's 42 points, our total losing margin this year is 58

Mitch needs to go forward, Young dropped, Boyd in.

Need more runners, need better users.

I noticed they put a video up of Durdin’s game on facebook and mentioned about the 13 tackles you’d expect he might get a call up on that

He played through the middle. Wasn't stuck in a forward pocket. I would give him a go on the ball. Point of difference with real pace and hard attack on player/ball at speed. Field kicking is good as well and can hit targets inside 50.

Can't be any worse than we have right now!

42 points on turnovers only...

What about the goals he has cost us by getting beat? Falling over?

More like 10-12 goals... he needs to be dropped mate, stuff giving him another chance.

Not enough penetration on his kicking for a wingman, not a great aerialist and doesn't have the skills of other wingman. I think its Walsh and Acres.
Ollie has improved his penetration this year and looks go be using the ball better in terms of picking more dangerous options like he did as a junior.

Id like to see him back on the wing, his running power is beyond elite but it rarely does much for us down back.

Not just a small forward - He’s an undersized mid… game should suit him.

Two years ago moving on ball, at least on a rotation, seemed the natural path for him.

Got to plenty of contests in the middle third, won a number based on agility and tenacity.

Not a bad kick at all either.

The worst thing is the nonsense that comes up weekly about why we should fire everyone on the spot after a bad game because their favourite EPL teams do it all the time ☠️
100% - negativity drives reactions which is what a lot of people are on social media for. A lot of fans also think being a member makes them more important than the club or gives them some sort of important voice that they just don't have.

He could also play the (Fogarty) HF role and be a little more offensive. Just need to get him fit.

I agree but what chance do we have of Voss dropping him?
