Not sure why anyone is surprised. The players are who they are. They are no good.
It is a team game and you are onluy as good as the weakest links and when your wekest links include experinced blokes liek Docherty/McGovern/Williams and Haynes - you are in big big trouble - players liek O Hollands/Lord /COwan cant develop around steong reliable roles models....

Unfortunately stock selection pre Austin is rearing its ugly head and it doesnt help if you develop 'personal issues' and take out two important needle movers out of the mix..

Positives:
Acres back in form and Walsh was better. Will white if he scored a single goal would have been our best small forward.

Saad was half decent.

Negatives:
McGovern, small forwards, Kemp and more and more and more.

One relatively better game out of 4 does not mean 'back in form'.

I continue to stand by my claim that Acres is one of the few we simply have to move on from.

He is a serial butcher of the footy.

McGovern as well is a momentum killer.
Hollands does one or two good things. Kicked a couple of goals. But he simply has no core/lower body strength.
Kemp has no mongrel. Doc is well and truly past it.

Can't really have a go at the small forwards when they barely bloody saw the ball coming in the attacking 50 tonight (and when they did, it was a sh*t entry).
We simply have the worst service in the league.

Hewett too a positive for his role on Daicos. But far out, how many hack kicks into the forward 50 from him alone tonight?

Will agree with Walsh being alright tonight, much better with ball in hand.
Silvagni another of the very few positives.

I'm not usually one to pin it on the coach.

But this time.... it really is the coach.

9 minutes of play left in the fourth quarter. Carlton are around five goals down...

And all they are doing is chip kicking around half back... IN A WET WEATHER GAME!

No sense of urgency. No one wanting to take the game on. No care for gaining territory.

This is 100% a coaching issue.

Voss and the assistants simply HAVE to go.
Hi owes that on Voss? Players are amazing the decision on the ground. Not his fault kemp looks inside and hits a Collingwood player. Or hollands.

You know I can handle the perennial failure, at my age it's mostly all I've ever known.

But I just wanted this mob to get another flag for my old man while he's around. Looks doubtful they ever will...

I would persist with White, thought he put in enough effort, JSOS looks good in the back half. Hollands I know copped some grief, but I thought he provided some run and carry. Hewett was solid all night long.

Just glad we've got a new fitness team because we're certainly running out games nicely at the moment.
