That is more in line with how I see it, and have for a while each time I saw him play or over the preseason

Was really surprised how many people had him best 22 in the off season
Yeah, we need his type and wish that he was ready right now.
Hopefully he can put his hand up and grab/get a decent taste of senior footy soon

Why is it we try and shoe horn young players into roles that they aren’t prepared for.

We need speedy midfielders - recruit speedy midfielders - don’t try and recruit speedy half back flankers and hope you can turn them into possession accumulating midfielders.

Its like that predilection we had about recruiting undersized half back flankers in the hope they would grow five centimetres and turn into key position players.

We’re not dropping Kemp, McGovern and Haynes as much we’d like to..

More likely just Evans and Haynes for Curnow and Boyd.

Motlop on shaky ground, will be an interesting test for Voss and MC. Maybe sending a message and dropping Motlop for White would be a good sign.

No, we're not. For some reason we keep trusting the same names to find their way out of trouble, instead of getting experience into others. I'd rather lose and see new faces, than lose with the same lack of pace, skill errors and mental fragility.

I predict we’ll come out Thursday night and make a statement with 4 quarters of full effort football. Blues by 33 points.

Hawks are a great side but playing Carlton after an embarrassing loss is bad luck timing for the Hawks and I think the Blues will play their best just as the Pies responded emphatically against Port.

And losing against Richmond but beating Hawthorn, while reverse of what most would have expected, may turn out to be a big blessing boost for our confidence rolling into a string of top team opponents. Go Blues.

are you drunk

A coach and a club that understand modern football is about skill and speed vs one trapped in a mindset of big bodies and winning the contest but paying zero attention to how you move the ball or defend ball movement - this won't end well.

The trend is clear, 2024 worse than 2023 and 2025 looks another step backwards.

Even when we lead by 41 points we were playing an uninspiring blast it long style of game which would of led nobody other than Richmond. Some slight adjustments by them and game over.
Guys got to be realistic...Carlton can again possibly fight for no.8 but a flag looks unrealistic
Play Doc,play less Kids only when we have to..
2023 was off Charlie's back...remember ?
2024 was average
2025 was going to be average but then Hollands issue appears plus loss of,J.Smith
Guys we threw away win over tigers with inaccuracy we worked hard however Evans playing was interesting plus Lord good for only 1 half(Voss should have taken more control of match direction)...i see this as taking pressure off us and can build season off each game....guys Voss worked this group hard in preseason they will hold up..can still go.
Carlton can still compete.....people just stand firm....
I got no idea how hawks will go.....looks like Mitchell must be a good coach.....regardless Carlton has to try and stabilise
Maybe a loss to Mitchell's mob....however an opportunity to make it a close game and play into form...

Gunna be wet yeah? Make a difference?

On SM-G980F using BigFooty.com mobile app
Of course it's gonna make a difference. Now Ginnivan and Watson can get double the frees for too high.
Partially because our tackling technique is.no good and also because our arms are wet and between them dropping the knees and also easier for them to lift their arm so our arms slip high.

6-8 goals from high tackles to them 2 would be my guess.

Play the kids. Get time and development into them.
Stop allowing our conditional players to getaway with S*** performances and think it’s ok because they know they’re going to get a game next week.

I love the optimism of Walshyoulegend, but we haven’t played 4 quarters of good football in years!

Hawks will murder us on Thursday night.

My prediction will be Carlton have a mare of a first quarter then we admirably fight back but ultimately never claw back the gap from the crap first quarter. Thats been our style and play for years.

If winning premierships with only one good quarter of footy a game was the name of the game . We’d be the best in the business.

I sincerely think Curnow changes very little for us this week.

Hawthorn are fast and slick, they're everything we're not. They belted us late last year and they seem to have become better while we continue our downward slide.

It honestly wouldn't shock me if this becomes a 50 point belting.

I think Curnow changes the look of our forwardline dramatically

Easier said than done, but the way to curb the Hawks is deny them space on the switch to limit overlap and better representation in the corridor if they look to come inboard

Press too high and they get you out the back

Doesn't really sound like us, does it?

I don't disagree he changes our forward line, I just don't think we'll get it down there enough to win.

They would have beaten us regardless the way we were playing but the main reason it was a slapping was because we copped 5 or 6 injuries in the game. No bench rotations against a team like that and it's going to get ugly. We were literally playing Boyd who couldn't move after picking up a season ending injury in the forward line just to keep one rotation on the bench for a lot of that game.

Just need to see players being more committed to pressure, intent and 2 way running, bare minimum starting point

Flying over for this.

Hear it’s hot, then sweaty, then rainy, then snowy, then a bit blizzardy.

I’ll bring a greatcoat just in case.

Goddamn Melbourne, hey.👍
I'd say a team of sled dogs and a beach umbrella should cover it.

This bloody club is so effing lazy I'm tipping we get belted by 15+ goals by the 'Orrible Awks'.

We ARE the softest club in the AFL, piss-weak to the extreme. I hope they were told to turn up for a full-on practice match on Monday and leave their mouthguards at home.

41 points up halfway into the 2nd quarter and to lose it to a bunch of kids. Seriously???
