Everyone seems to have forgotten my man Jasper so far.

I reckon he could be the smokey for 2025.

He's tall, strong, and is a MASSIVE kick.

A genuine 65m+ goal kicker.

Certainly he has a lot to work on, but he's 19 / 20 and is being coached by some of the best going around.

I expect some really rapid growth in Jaspers game - and a 2025 full debut.

He's gotten on top of his mental health issues, and is 100% focussed on being the very best he can be.

He will surprise a lot of you.
I’m very much hoping Scaifey can step up in Mitchy’s absence. I love Cholly, but I can’t help but think he played at 97% of his capacity in ‘24, I honestly don’t think there’s a huge amount of improvement left in him.

Would be ecstatic to be proven wrong though of course.

Whilst I tend to agree with your assessment, I will say that players can jump from one plateau to the next.

Take GAJ. He was bog average for the first few years. Then all of a sudden he becomes a superstar.
Another is Jobe. Complete hack who wins a Brownlow within a year.

OK, trying to think of one who isn't suspect. Ummmm... A little help please. Perhaps Brad Sewell. Brent Guerra.

Not exactly true re Watson. He had five good to great seasons before "winning" the Brownlow.

Don’t forget, Chol is about to turn 28. Not that it’s impossible to have a renaissance in your late 20s moving into your 30s, but it’s less likely.

How about the current Coleman medalist?

I like Weddle and Nash playing as relief ruckmen in throw-in and around the ground situations.

Those situations are generally more crowded, so there is less chance of someone winning a clean clearance, even with the size difference between Nash/Weddle and a legitimate ruckman. It could give Meek a break sitting behind the ball, and we would have another midfielder around the contest.
One thing I think is for sure is that with multiple options at second ruck (Chol/Nash/Weddle) I doubt we will roll with a Meek/Reeves combo again anytime soon.

I really like the look of our ruck combo with Meek as the number 1 brute in the middle and Chol/Nash/Weddle as the second unit. Feels like a good mixture of styles as Chol is actually quite good in the centre bounces with his huge leap, Nash is physical enough in the around the ground throw ups and Weddle is a real handful with his run.

Chol has all the tools in the shed just needs to put it together. Hope he gets the first half dozen games to show this, if it doesn’t happen he may be overpassed by seasons end.

Do we think Weds will set foot in the backline again, in an official capacity? I seriously don't think he's needed back there any more. In fact, he'd be wasted there. Time for him to seriously step up and become the gun we know he can be.
He is training there at the moment.

So, for tallish to tall backs we have: Weds, Frosty, Barras, Battle, Sic, Scrim, plus a couple waiting in the wings. Yeah we’re definitely gunna line up like that….
Mate take it easy. What I am saying is that he will play multiple roles. He will play ruck as well. I don't think he will be set in role

I know that the excitement and hyperbole is always evident at this time of the year. However we seem to have great depth (some say too much?) and plenty of competition for spots. Best 22/23 will be challenging and probably not worth trying until February.
No list cloggers to be seen.
