When he realized Brick Johnson was conducting the interview.
Walked away when the Jets found out he wasn't the coach from the state farm ad and they couldn't bundle and save on his inevitable early termination in 2 years

They are weird weird people owners, make a fortune every year and yet some of them cant come up with a good enough offer to make sure a coach doesnt leave the building when hes the one youre keenest on. Just weird. If hes your guy just ****ing pay them and get on with it.

Glenn possibly had second thoughts once he physically went there, talked to him in depth, etc. something might have put him off. Next minute ...accepts Saints offer

Maybe so, but there is always a number to get someone sign then and there.

Every year there is a team who won't let a HC candidate leave the building and they fail. Most times they don't get them once they go back home

Just seems to happen to the Jets more then other teams

The problem is there are no consequences for being a terrible owner in US sports. Dan Snyder was an incompetent a**hole, sex pest and fraudster, and he still sold the Commies for a $5.25 billion profit. Similarly Woody will face no consequences for his ineptitude.

There are times when I think European soccer has it right with having relegation. It'd never happen in the NFL, but at least bad owners suffer a financial loss if their team gets relegated.

I think a large part of it stems from not wanting to offer too much and set a precedent for other owners to pony up.

After laying the boots into Woody, time to lay them into Khan. Bad teams stay bad coz they cant get out of their own way. Imagine making Trent Baalke a priority over Ben Johnson and Liam Coen. smh.

Start Farm is not a popular organisation to be a spokesman for these days.

Don't hate this hire, but don't love it either. Taking a very wait and see approach, just typical of the Jets to go with another defense oriented coach in an offense dominated league.
Potential staff seems underwhelming on paper. Think they needed to get a good OC, Haley, Brown and Brunell...

This puts Saleh back as No 1 candidate.

He should run. He's been fired once and there is a reason everyone else is running away.

He should talk to Jed York about Baalke.

Jags hiring Saleh after how bad the offense was in NY under him is so Jags.

Stiff shit for other owners, never got that thinking. Bad teams have to pay a bad team tax when hiring, every team is different.

Exactly. Why do these teams fail with hiring?

You are all in on a candidate who is offensively minded and then go in the totally opposite direction without reason other than "best" available.

On the one hand I would've preferred Pete Carroll, someone coming in in the "Paul Roos" role to get this shitshow back on the rails for a few years before handing over to someone for the longer term.

On the other hand thank god it's not Rex Ryan.
