Honestly think people seem way too keen to pay absolute top dollar from the jump in a line where seagulls always present
Not a knock on Flanders.

Will Holmes go between def and mid again, or is he due for a fulltime mid role? What's the preseason news around his role going into 2025?

Thinking is HB ….. with Smith coming in

I think there will be mid games …. but his ave has 5 points of upside

I don’t know the answer but, the opposing argument is now Smith is at Geelong there isn’t the reliance on Tom Stewart to play as a mid this season. The emergence of Humphries will play a part also.

I’d suggest Holmes and Smith are our 1/2 mids this season with others working around them.

I'm not picking him I have a feeling he might play more forward than mid with Macrae there now.
See below for St Kilda's CBA's last year. An absolute dog's breakfast. Plenty of room for Macrae and Pou imo.

Reckon they have Steele, Macrae, Pou, Windy as the main guys with cameo's from others. Sinclair staying back pretty likely too.

I've seen Jack Carroll's name mentioned on the Saints board as well as Garcia.

I’m not picking him either, huge trap imo. Steele, Macrae and phillipou would be the slowest midfield ever assembled, it won’t last long. If he was in the 200k-250k price range you would consider it but over 300k to start him you would want at least a 90 average, and I personally doubt he even does an 80 average

Phillipou showed more in a couple matches than ZJones, Clark and Dow have ever. They'd be crazy not to play him as a mid. Steele, Pou, Macrae and Windy should be their midfield quartet.

Macrae is more of a worry imo. If Saints start poorly, I can see Macrae moving out of the midfield and them pumping mid time into Pou, Garcia and Carroll.

Dow and Carroll aren't quick either though. Jones is quick, but he'll be playing VFL.

Would love to know what role Matt Kennedy will have at the Doggies.
At the Blues when he had 50% or more CBA's he scored really well.
2022 he played 17 games 50% or more and averaged 97
2023 he played 5 games 50% or more and averaged 96
2024 he played 5 games 50% or more and averaged 103
