Would be a nice result. Apparently he’s an outside type, good big lad with a massive boot on him.
It’s high time freo started getting a couple of cheapies at the draft sick of looking at Brisbane and GC doing it every year.

If he could play like that on the wing or half back ot would be handy

There's a DT&FA regular who loves Whan. He's the one spruiking top 10. West Coast fan too so I suspect he might know him personally.
Always a touch wary when I see one poster constantly spruiking the same prospect over on the those boards.
At the same time if he’s good enough it will become apparent fairly quickly. A strong showing in national championships against the vic sides will be a decent indicator.

Assuming it wasn't a lie, he said Whan recorded a 16 beep test which is great. He appears to have some wheels so should definitely be draftable.

There's also Toby Whan. Might need to wait a few years for him to come good, but Lindsay had a good game for Melbourne the other day, so who knows if he could step straight in if he keeps progressing well.
Yep he’s the one .
Fits the bill for our distributing hbf perfectly.
Big , evasive , good endurance and most importantly lethal kick both in accuracy and distance

Obviously will take a few years to come on (provided he continues on his current trajectory) but if there one position on the field where a first/2nd year player can have an impact it’s as hbf

Either way it seems like Jackson's little press conference might have been more on Andrew McDougall realising he might have somewhat stuffed up the negotiations, with the club more than happy to facilitate a happy little propaganda conference.

I still think Jackson is too dumb to deliberately leverage some statements to teammates into a contract extension and think that the whole thing has Colin Young's grubby little prints all over it

Switta can't kick [emoji637][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]] meters he's an issue

I agree with that, but I still feel like he’s the only one actually bringing forward fifty pressure. Was noticeable when he went off. Bolton is a goal scoring upgrade but doesn’t tackle.

Consider that if Jackson has a 7 year offer from another club, it would be matched by us adding four years end of this season.

And I suspect that's the exact reason. De Koning not going to the Saints and they'll have even more of that $17m over ten years to spend buying hope.

It doesn't mean Fremantle is obligated to extend him, but if we have him asking to leave to a new seven year deal on big money, is it going to offer some comfort to feel like it was the right call?

Jackson has 10 of his career 15 Brownlow votes at Freo in two years out of six.

If that gets up to 10 to 15 a year, we are doing well.

I can't easily find the AFLCA votes, but I suspect that also tracks as he gains in influence.

I agree that if he could take a couple of contested marks a game that would be outstanding, especially if they are between the arcs and lead to inside fifties.

When we grabbed Jackson my expectation was that he's a player who can turn a match in our favour. Less of a structural piece and more of a disruptive piece: 10 minutes that change the course of a game.

Possibly an unrealistic expectation, and also one that is heavily dependent on how a coach uses him.
