Normally agree but is going back to our VFL side beneficial for any player?

Our VFL side is a disaster as well. How many of our players have gone back and done well or improved?
At worst his leadership back there will help Ben & Lucas develop.

How many of this Southport team would play in our AFL team
Jacob Dawson is the unluckiest not to be on an AFL list imo. Was totally mismanaged by GCS when they tried to turn him into a defender - but has since become the premier midfielder at state league level.

Still only 25yo - would have him in a heartbeat...he's now become an inside/outside midfielder which is invaluable in any side.

If Harry were to leave, what would he get on the open market?

If a club like the Hawks or Lions miss out on Allan, how much would they pay for Harry as they are in the premiership window now and the next few years?

1 first rounder I reckon , maybe swap of picks later on , that’s today value ..his value has dropped … can’t see anyone giving us more. If I was Harry I would leave Melb and pay interstate

For a side in the window, i think they will pay considerably more, other teams aren’t scared to go all in and go for a flag.

For reference, last year Harry kicked 49 goals and had his highest output stats wise, other than his health issues this year, his market value should be very high.

I’m thinking worse case scenario and how I project his year will go … ask me 6 months ago after those 49 goals 2 first rounders but if he decides he wants out and we agree and his year is cooked like now , 1 first rounder is what I predict
Good clubs over pay for real guns , Harry is abit of a liability

I'd say given he's contracted, 2 first round picks or a top 10 pick + a 2nd rounder.

The best thing about Hawks having our two picks is that this club has absolutely no choice but to fight tooth and nail not to bottom out this year.

And when they do finish bottom 4, there is no silver lining to market on. No pick.1 to fawn over. No draft hall for AFL radio to praise.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think the club will change its approach or get any better at recruiting. It’s just they won’t get that sugar hit and they will be forced to actually think outside of the box.

Jagga is essentially our pick for this year. Which we may have ended up paying unders for when looking back at it

Next year we get a top 5 draft pick in Cody Walker and a top three draft pick in Jagga Smith. Now is not the time to panic and trade away our stars. A full year into the Campo boys, Moir, Jagga and Walker as our depth? We will make the hard calls after we win a flag next year.
Ah, I forgot about Cody. Around what number will he be picked?
