Ever since Colonial Stadium first opened it felt like a perfect ground for us, even looked like a terrible surface like Subi back in the day but from Colonial to Telsrra Dome to Etihad Stadium to Marvel the results have been few and far between.

I can still picture us playing well there and hope we really push the Hawkers.

*probably my favourite home and away away win ever was at Telsra Dome when we beat the Pies in 2003 and kicked 6 in the first 12 mins (not joking) then pies slowly caught up, got about 3 goals up with 10 mins to go then we kicked 5 goals in the last 8 or so mins and won by 3 goals.

Was there and it was mental!

I recall watching that game on the TV, after embers kicked one of those goals getting spun out of a tackle.

Back when footy was everything to me and a loss would legit ruin the next few days (early teens).

Two games for me stand out from Marvel for us.

LeCras 12 goals

The f***ing Hird game. (They blitzed in the 1st, we fought back from like 7? goals down to be in front late in the 3rd. And then Hurd went beast mode and won't the game for them off his own back. Was like 21 goals vs 20. Epic game we came out on the wrong end of the stick)

Everything else kinda blends into one.

What stood out to me yesterday was how much better Geelong players were at retaining their defensive shape and making basic plays (e.g. covering the goal square) than their Hawthorn counterparts.
