I've posted this exact thing after their finals win last year

Complete fallacy they based their bounce back on high picks

Pretty much contradicts everything X man usually goes on about too

yeah pretty much this.

If TB had gone to Carlton then they'd be 3-0 & Hawks battling

You could almost guarantee it

IMO it makes the decision to death ride the Hawks rather than Carlton even more baffling knowing what Barrass would be bringing.

The last impressive win that Carlton had was against the Cats in Rd 15 last season. Since then the only other wins they've had were against the Tigers, Kangas and you guys. The Hawks on the other hand went on to register wins against the Bulldogs, eventual premiers the Lions, Giants, Dockers, and Magpies.

The below doesn't even get into the fact that Carlton traded away most of it's depth which was already weak and outside of Jagger Smith brought in no other speed. With the crash and bash contested style that they play injuries were always going to occur and that depth tested / exposed which is where they are now.

Whomever at WC made the decision to death ride the Hawks should be fired immediately.

I was of the thinking we should go the Carlton picks.
Mainly on the back of believing that how a team finishes the year is a good look into how they will go the next year.
Hawks definitely finished better.
The biggest reasoning behind picking the hawks picks was thinking they would get a harder draw this year and probably surprised and jumped a few teams last year.

But geez, they lost only 2 games in the back half of the season, not including finals, compared to 6 for Carlton.

Only 3 rounds and 0 into the season so anything could still happen but it is definitely looking a bad decision ATM.

I'm guilty I thought with a harder draw and still a young team they wouldn't make the top 4 and put a $100 bet on with a mate that they wouldn't make the top 4.

Should of known better Sam Mitchell is a genius.

Such a shame he went back to the Hawks........

If they get Allen ill be death riding them as long as Mitchell is their coach [emoji1]

Idc that Allen leaving is a net plus, pick a different club [emoji36]
It could all come crashing down on Mitchell and the Hawks yet. They seem to be peaking now when we all know ideally September is when you want to be hitting your straps. A lot of those extroverted personalities watson, ginnivan and sicily etc can fall off cliffs quickly and you throw in a injury to newcomb or meek they might get humbled pretty quickly.

Every year a team bolts out of the blocks and goes into the mid season bye looking a million bucks. I have almost never seen it pay off in the end. I still feel that ultimately Sam Mitchell is a sociopath and sooner or later the list will tire of him and the wave will come crashing down. He's high on confidence and his ego would be out of control areas at the moment. It's a long season. Patience friends, we all know from experience nice guys finish last. But opposite isn't guaranteed to be true either.

It's really interesting watching the Hawks bring in Battle, Barrass and target more players this year.

Their growth up the ladder is on the back of a lot of improvement from their younger and mid level players.

A lot of these players come OOC next year... and you would think some of them would be deserving of a decent pay rise.

Mackenzie, Moore, MacDonald, Newcombe, Impey, Weddle, Amon and Watson you could all argue are in career best form and surely some of their cap space must be saved for them?

The idea they can bring Oscar and Harley in and afford their inflated contracts as well as re-sign their core players will be an interesting watch.

You'd be a little flat watching these incoming blokes get big pay days and then the core guys who have built the winning culture get SFA.

Im just pissed that an opposition coach has actively de-railied our season and our club. In season.

Its a dog act. Plain and siimple.

Sure talk in the background with his manager. Have a phone call. But be professional and keep it private until our season is over.

Hawthorn seem to like playing out trades in the media. Mitchell a "look at me and how I dont care about professionalism or respect"

No wonder the Hawks team acts like a bunch of petulant spoiled brats with egos the size of Texas.

I dont wish bad luck on players or teams but geez I hope the karma bus hits these tossers in a big way.

Yeah we were going so well until this happened :moustache:

Does this help build a team and retain players?

No. It does the opposite. In season.

If I were the Eagles I'd target every decent Hawks player and do it publically. And repeatedly.

If they want to approach our players in season and publically we should return favour. Start feeding the media tit bits to cause them concern and distraction in season.

Let Hawthorn spend time and negative energy in damage control.

Odd thing is.. In our 4 games, we havent really been lightning. Just good solid performances and bankable wins against 3 Finalsists from last year (and the Bombers). Still have a lot more scope for improvement.

Mitchell knows how to pace it. I predict we will be on fire some August/September

Guys did you know the Hawks have started the season well? We cross now to today’s wave of new Hawks posters to confirm.

I’d be keen to find out, is it sort of a free for all situation or do you have some sort of roster to dictate who visits on a given day?
