I'm still tempted by Sanders. Having Bont out for 6 weeks helps his case? Also, I think if he gets a bit of continuity, I don't see why he couldn't avg 85-90 somewhere. Last year he was a bit in and out of the side and had some sub affected scores, but if he is a mainstay in the 22 without the vest this season, he could show good value for $340k?
There’s a bit of talk that Bont is gonna be back a lot earlier than originally thought. Might only miss a couple of games.

Queue the laughs but is anyone considering Finlayson?

Leaning towards better options for a similar price but he looks really good in defence. I think his one of those blokes who can be a very good footballer if he has the right role....

What are everyone's thoughts on Hobbs???

Does he score enough to be an ok stepping stone or is he a trap???
Zerrett, Caldwell, Tsatas, and Parish on his return ....makes Hobbs a 4th ranked mid at best

2 problems.
One he is horribly inconsistent.
The other is Ken.

This will be you if you pick Finlayson.

Teams will make him accountable and force him to defend which he has shown he can't do.

He is a space cadet and when things don't go his way on the field, he will turn it up as it all becomes too hard for him.

Plus with the situation with his wife where there is no certainity for Kellie :(.

Don't do it to yourself.

My POD forwardline. C.Daniel is in my midfield. Fully prepared to go Humphrey > mid rookie but i want a look at Humphrey in the regular season instead of getting rid of him. If he can post 80+ in round 1 while getting CBAs he will stay. Daniels is a gun player who im relying on working up the ground a bit more often.

Simpkin had a pretty good end to last season SC wise. I predict either he or Powell will have a big season in the middle. Its probably more likely to be Powell but with Wardlaw out im hoping Simpkin can start the season well.

I had Simpkin in the later half of last season.

He will frustrate the hell out of you. He is more or less playing that high half forward role with the occassional run on the ball.

North have even more options in the midfield now.

I can't see him averaging anything above 80.

I dont neccessarily disagree with this statement but i think Simpkin will still be rotated through there regularly. Powell is probably the one that i can foresee pushing Simpkin out of the rotation. Phillips doesnt fill me with confidence and Parker may end up spending more time forward than what i originally thought.

Plenty of options but i feel like there is a spot that is yet to be solidified at the moment. Powell is probably in the box seat and I can't say i have much confidence in Simpkin beyond the fact that when he is really on he can accumulate possessions and tackles very quickly. Looking at the numbers - he was averaging 57.9 after 7 rounds and finished on 79.7 after the last 11 rounds. His last 11 rounds were at 93.54

If there was more role certainty he would be a great option. Unfortunately, there isn't. I dont think he will end in my final team but there is a version of Simpkin that would be worthwhile selecting at 430k

I've had him in my side 90% of the time since he dropped that tonne the other week since I'd like a good POD to all the other forward lines out there. Still not sure since I'm always covering all the outs if he doesn't work out. Down to Wicks/Garcia or leaving $30k in the bank to get him up to Parker in one trade, etc. Definitely a boom or bust type pick since if he has been earmarked to play there full-time then it could be okay. Has Lukocius taken his role up forward?? That's my line of thought that he may play in defence full-time... No idea. But above quoters to your post suggest I should probably err on side of caution and take him out.
