What the first 12 gamesStill worth it for last year alone now the management of him by the coaching staff is another thing but I’m fine with Grundy for 4.
We could float a new crypto currencyWe are seemingly going to need a LOT of draft capital this year to acquire the academy talent.
At present, we don’t have any picks beyond our “standard” selections.
I suspect we’re going to have to acquire points (or else go into significant deficit).
And that means trading out players or pick swaps.
If we assume trading out players is the preferred avenue, who could it be?
Chad is the obvious one. But looking more likely he’ll stay.
Gus would net some points - and a move west is looking more and more likely for him.
Wicks is surely off the table.
Cleary seems unlikely to be used as trade bait, despite recent misdeeds.
Rampe, Hamling, Paton, Mitchell, Fox, Kirk and Francis realistically have no trade value.
Ladhams …. maybe?
Buller …. not sure there’s any trade value at this stage.
I suppose my point is - if Chad stays, where are the draft points coming from?
What the first 12 games
It’s a 4 year deal
Worth it atm lol
We didn't give Grundy those years. Collingwood did. That contract has been passed to three clubs now and Collingwood are still paying for it. Literally paying as well.Good management giving Grundy 4 and Adams 3
another 2 years for a 31 year old ruck
How did Joel look in the VFL on Saturday for Collingwood? Still think they were being smart ar**s when they bid for him and didn't expect us not to match.Wouldn't be surprised to see us pass on one of them. We did it last year with Cochran
AF 61, 15 possessions, 4 marks, 3 tackles, no score. Better than 13 Swans and 9 Pies so middle of the road. I didn't see it so can't comment on how he looked. How did Joel look in the VFL on Saturday for Collingwood? High Disposal Efficiency as well so looks like he had a decent game from the limited stats we get in the VFLAF 61, 15 possessions, 4 marks, 3 tackles, no score. Better than 13 Swans and 9 Pies so middle of the road. I didn't see it so can't comment on how he looked.

Can't see either of them leaving but I guess you never know.Discussion on yesterday's 'Gettable' about clubs' key pre-agents

Would hope we sign both up.What I'd give to get Zac Bailey! He's exactly the type we need. I won't be that unhappy if we flip Jmac for a 2nd if we utterly need the points or whatever

Jmac is expendable if you only remember the last 6 months of footy and forget the alternatives.you wrote 157 posts describing how good the new points system is.. You wrote we'll have no problems matching bids on our academy players
now your casually saying just 'flip JMac for points'
WTF - I still question which team you follow.. as it is clear the new points system is devastating for the northern academies.
With our entire draft hand, we won't have enough points to match a single top ten pick!

Won’t this help though? As suns and lions picks are all going to come in, and so instead of 44 becoming 38, 22 will become 16If we don’t trade anyone, then we’ll need to try and split our first round pick and/or future first round picks.
The problem is Gold Coast and Brisbane also have high end academy kids so they will be looking to do the same thing, so it might be tough to find a suiter.
Wouldn't be surprised if other clubs showed an interest in Jmac.Juzzy won’t save us much, will be resigned for below market value IMO.
Mills contract looking very expensive per game right now…..
Not wasting a lot of cash elsewhere really….so I guess we have to wonder whether the Haywards and Florent drove too hard a bargain

Certainly didn't need a contested, clean inside mid over recent years. We need cap space and Juzzy can go , as we did with George H.
The only ones i would take is Sam Walsh with a doctors clearance and Jack Ross
Would hope we sign both up.
Would be unhappy to lose Jmac. 2nd best winger in the side, especially important to retain as Lloyd is getting on.
Bice can easily go there , plus Giga CoreyCertainly didn't need a contested, clean inside mid over recent years.
So who needs our 2nd best winger, with one of the next 2 best turning 32 this year...
