Hard to read too much into the backline with Ballard/Mac down, but Rioli is going to be a real boost with some game time under his belt, especially for games that aren’t played in the early evening swamp.

Midfield starting to warm up. Still far too offensive and still need to learn how to contain elite oppositions who are always going to cheat forward like we do.

Forward line is going to hold us back significantly this season. The reliance we already seem to have on Walter executing his role like a veteran isn’t a great sign.

We haven’t ironed out kicking straight in 10 years. One pre season game isn’t going to help

This is a great trial.
A strong reminder to the team how difficult it is to win a match and how you need to start a match switched on.
5 players with minor precautions that will be fine.
Close to perfect barring final quarter disaster.
