Amazing weekend for Oscar. Probably his most dominant weekend in F1. George Russell has had a hell of a season so far as well. Gasly and Bearman (since Melbourne) have been sneaky good as well.

Looks like LEC DRS was open in a non-DRS zone as well, but seems it wasn’t picked up on or reported to the stewards.

Just caught up on the race, sky F1 went full on Lando TV it really was annoying especially not showing Oscar winning, that was a full on slap in the face to Australia and Oscar.
It was almost like listening to the Carlton biased call on SEN.

Well done to our boy showing the world he’s the best driver out there no matter what the British biased f1 media say.

Wait, you're the conspiracy nut who - once more - needs to be told that the Sky team do not control what's shown on the screen.

Dunno who won the race but what a fantastic battle that was between the Brits on that last lap. Such a brave effort by Lando to go from 6th to 3rd. Again, I didn't actually catch who won, but i suppose it doesn't matter because Sky knows best on how cover a race

Once again, it is not Sky that controls what you see on the screen.

Well considering they lock out the first couple of laps until “DRS enabled” I’m sure you are right.

The rules allow a team to request a manual override if the DRS isn't working, and for George Russell and any car within 1 second of him (Lando), it's a fair request to mitigate the disadvantage. It would be granted because Russell's transponder wasn't working - a part supplied by a third party which was faulty through no fault of Mercedes.

I sometimes think this board might benefit from having no Aussie on the grid haha

Gonna be one of those 'good old days' people and say that I was posting here when each GP barely got a dozen posts and Kayo or Netflix (in its current form) didn't exist and the Australian driver was being beaten by his German teammate week in week out much to our chagrin.

Max must be pulling his hair out. From chocolates to boiled lollies in the space of a week. Car issues, pit stop issues, tyre strategy up the waazoo. No wonder his manager had a crack at Marko.

Red Bull were a complete mess this weekend.

The UK is also the ‘home’ of F1 so it’ll always have a British flavour regardless. It’s in its DNA.

If I remember correctly, all teams except Toro Rosso/Racing Bulls/Visa Cash App etc etc are based in the UK, most of them in a ten mile radius or something ridiculous.

Ferrari aren't either but yeah the rest are all at or very close to Silverstone.

Of course, forgot about Maranello.

High chance Cadillac will also be based there too.

Just have to learn to deal with the British focus and bias, it's been part of F1 since the beginning tbh. Yes, I am also accepting of #VICBIAS in the AFL.

Great race by Oscar. Stoked he got the win. Doohan drive well too until they put him on hard tyres at the end. Not sure if that’s all he had left but they weren’t good for anyone so that’s disappointing. Onto Jeddah!
No champers at the end there lol

On reflection, yes he had the fastest car on the grid, no question, but he still had to put it on pole, start well, manage the tires and he made no significant errors during qualifying or the race. Didn't get carried away on the radio (from what we can tell), dealt with issues like the safety care with a minimum of fuss, drove flawlessly when he was challenged.

This is a future potential WDC - if he can keep repeating this and China for the majority of the races this year, he will win it.

And Mclaren doesnt stiff him

A few more weekends like this, where Lando bottles it and shows his mental fragility and Oscar shows the opposite and it’ll become a hard argument to ignore. Doesn’t matter Lando has been there longer, if they sew up the WCC early and there’s a WDC on offer too, they absolutely have to back him.

Oscar is locked into a longer contract than Lando too, so I wouldn’t want to shit in his cereal if I was McLaren.
