It is a computer issue. Tech is always prone to failing and there is nothing you can do about it.
as per the rest of my post, generally that still isn’t an excuse to escape penalty unfortunately.

RIC with a faulty fuel flow sensor as an example.

Be interesting to see how the FIA handle this once they have all the evidence in front of them

Hulkenburg also apparently getting disqualified due to plank issues with his car, is pending. So Hadjar down is getting promoted one position as he joins Sainz.

And doc 44 still blank re Russell as Stewards be speaking to Team manager per

Surely Russell gets a pass be like overtaking off track redress the time gained and you are clear of a penalty all he needs show is he lifted.

As it was then reported, I figured this'd be the case with him as whilst technically it's unfair to operate DRS outside of designated zones of use, so long as there was no gain then there was no reason for penalty to be applied.

The Hulk only has Sauber to blame though for maybe shaving that floor a tad too much, if only he wasn't 13th there might have been some added points shenanigans in the aftermath, but alas.

I just couldn't sleep so decided to go hunting to see how it washed up was all, so chanced upon some reporting in my stupor. Then apparently 30mins after my post F1 had the report of the Hulk getting DQ'd as confirmed and what an hour after that doc 44 got updated to;

Snipped, just look up the doc number if you wish to view the full reasons. As time shows, hearing took 2 hours, 19:52 summon -> 21:55 result or 7:52pm local to 9:55pm.

Perfect weekend for Oscar has a really strong chance to go back to back in Saudi it's a track he hasn't lost to Norris at before and really put pressure right on Lando.

Feels like yesterday I was saying watch this kid he will be our next wdc back in the F3 days, seems surreal that he is probably favourite right now, should be a race win ahead without 2 minor blunders in Australia and Japan.

I thought drs would have only been able to be activated during a drs zone and only when they are within 1second? Surely they don’t leave it up to the drivers to judge all that. I mean they still have to press the button but I thought it would be locked out if the conditions weren’t met?

Just caught up on the race, sky F1 went full on Lando TV it really was annoying especially not showing Oscar winning, that was a full on slap in the face to Australia and Oscar.
It was almost like listening to the Carlton biased call on SEN.

Well done to our boy showing the world he’s the best driver out there no matter what the British biased f1 media say.

George’s transponder was playing up for half the race, and they had permission to override the DRS control for manual activation.

Fair outcome in the end for RUS. Looks like it was still his mistake (and not faulty button) but because he backed off and gave up 10 times the amount of time he gained by accident, the stewards decided not to punish him. (A bit like NOR giving back the position to HAM when he passed him off track)

Full decision here for those that want to read it.

Went to bed immediately after the drivers crossed the line so didn't know Russell immediately backed off by that much after the DRS incident.

Fine with no penalty then, it's equivalent to handing back your position if you illegally overtake a car.

Dunno who won the race but what a fantastic battle that was between the Brits on that last lap. Such a brave effort by Lando to go from 6th to 3rd. Again, I didn't actually catch who won, but i suppose it doesn't matter because Sky knows best on how cover a race

Shit's got real. He can genuinely win it this year.

To be fair, Sky don't control the world feed. It was obviously a Brit in the director's seat though...

Well considering they lock out the first couple of laps until “DRS enabled” I’m sure you are right.

Couldn't believe what i was seeing. Maybe the battle for 2nd, which was over by those first few turns, could've gone into tiny box in the left hand corner and focus on the winner crossing the line. I won't let it detract from the win, Oscar's best to date, but to be disrespected that way was disappointing
