360 tonight was what a proper footy show should be with Horse and Simmo who shows some Hawks defensive structures and talked about going to his board with a reset . Then they asked Horse if he ever did it and he said i think in 19 we had Pyke and Matthews do a dossier on the Swans before they came in.
Would be great if one of our amazingly clever people on here could put the segment up , a great listen

Does that mean he wont get penalized for dissent?
Taking this on face value & that you mean this in a genuine sense & not as some kind of joke - It's actually an interesting question.

In the heat of battle he loses it and swears at the umpire (just like many other players might've)... Do they give him the benefit of the doubt given his Tourettes outbursts are reportedly very similar?

Obviously not trying to make light of the situation - As a genuine question, is there a potential there he could be treated differently because of that part of his mannerisms?

Or, I suppose, potentially worse, will he be held to the same standard (to the letter of the law) as others are? Where an accidental outburst is penalised (imo unfairly)?

Good question GTG and I've got no idea on the answer. Will be interesting to see if the situation arises.

I found that comment from Longmire about Pyke and Matthews really interesting. Especially as over the years supporters have wanted an "external" review. It definitely had a positive impact on the club.

Umps should be able to distinguish between n abusive outburst and a heat of the moment f bomb in frustration anyway imo

Let alone if it lines up so that an involuntary tic causes someone to swear at or curse at an ump. Given the tic is involuntary it would be unlucky to even be toward an ump surely?

Just manage the dissent rule correctly and logically and it’s a non issue ( I am not up to speed with Tourettes)

Hope someone can get it up , this is what a footy show should be , people that know , not speculators

I swear and curse umps every week , even Friday night when the brave ones got the wrong end of it

Now Now you are baiting me
I reckon The King! has had some inside intel & knows one of our new punishments is watching a whole interview with the Tassie mascot... He's excited is all mate. It's a big thing for them.

Wonder what is going on with the Blue's McKay?

Out again.
“The Club is providing the appropriate support to McKay, with his availability for Round 4 to be determined next week,” the statement ended by saying.

I have it on good authority that The King! IS the new Tassie mascot.

Cornes hasn't even called him Missy McKay.

AFL footballers are the most entitled people on the planet imo.

In the real world there are people with depression, addiction, hate their job, hate their boss, have family problems, have relationship problems, have other issues who turn up to work everyday and many of whom get paid quite modestly.
Adam Hunter, Shane Tuck, Danny Frawley, Shane Yarran, Harley Balic, Cam McCarthy, Troy Selwood.

Thats off the top of my head in the past 7 or so years.

You can't judge him by this and it's totally unfair , as you don't know the circumstances

This and its responses might better belong on the mental health thread. I'll just say that mental health issues can strike anyone, rich, poor, young, old, male, female, other etc. The "harden up" response is rarely helpful. I'm not a psychologist but I have enough personal experience to know this to be true.
