I did have a quick google. He could do with a couple of weights sessions 😂.

Reminded me of one of my fav Dennis commeti lines, “he’s been doing weights in the pre season with calista flockhart”
I love those wiry, rangy type players

You would think the club will have 4 players trying out for 2 spots that would then leave the club with 1 spot open for the MSD. Could the club have more than 4 training with the team even though we may only take 1 and leave 2 spots open for MSD, although this seems risky to me because of our and others teams history of injuries early and pre season training.

AFAIK we can have 6 train for a SSP opportunity with 3 list spots available. Whether we actually have 6, or fill all spots due to MSD intentions is still to be determined. Kelly the only one confirmed by the club as a potential SSP trainer at this stage. Eyre at the club training over the off season which tends to indicate he’s also another potential trainer.

I don't think you'd want too many training with us - particularly if they're kids as they'll all probably need a fair bit of one on one to get up to speed with match sim structures, as will the new kids already on the list. Too many who don't know what they're doing and the systems that we want to embed won't get embedded.

Having Kelly and Eyre potentially being 2 of those training mitigates that as they know the systems already.

Yeah, the positive of the VFL having the same game plan and structures as the AFL side, Eyre won't have an issue with adapting.

As much I have bagged Kelly, I still think there is an AFL quality footballer in there.

I’m hoping it is an attitude thing that needed a reset by having it all taken away. He has to work for it if he wants it. Drop the penny.

I just don't think he has the mongrel of his old man. Not sure that can be developed. He always looks scared of the ball & the contest.

He doesn’t need his father’s level or style of mongrel, just has to be prepared to attack the footy or the player with it with greater intensity. He’s 90+kgs and attacks the footy like a flyweight which won’t cut the mustard in modern footy. Reminds me a lot of Craig Starcevich in the way he plays and he managed a pretty handy career.

I agree he doesn't need to reach his Dad's level or style of mongrel to make it. Just a little bit of it would be handy. He's just too timid. He always looks lost.

and yet in his first game he banged that goal in from 50 on the run and we thought , what have we got here. That’s still his only highlight from senior footy, says a lot

I am once again asking for the source confirming we have invited Kelly, Eyre and Sofronidis to train.
Why? It’s been well established by now that there’s no confirmation and we’re working on rumours/Chinese whispers.

I don’t understand why you’re pursuing a source like this, it really doesn’t make sense.

We have 3 vacancies so I’d hope we use our full allotment of 6 players even if we only intend to take 2 on initially.

Sofranides looks good but needs to wack on some KG.
78kg ATM. At his age I would expect him to be bigger.

Similar build to Nathan Murphy I would have thought. And I wonder how accurate or often those things are updated. I've seen Murphy's weight range listed between 79 - 90 kg for example.

I call that range swing a good weekend.

He's trying to get the people who are making up what they're saying based on loose Twitter rumours to admit they have no actual source for their information.

They never will, but that's his intention.

Sam is around 2cm taller than Murphy and at minimum 12kg lighter.
Needs time in the gym.
Murphy looks 90kg, by no means whatsover he is 78kg.

Some of those rangy tallish players have a very strong core, especially if they've been playing football for a long time. His role would be to intercept I would imagine and he has a bit of spring so he might not need to put on too much weight

Agree mate, but at 85kg he would be more imposing. Most new AFL players in the system bulk up a bit.
They seem to take it more seriously once in the system.
78kg is pretty light for a guy his size.
Bobby hill is around 72kg

Interesting list to see the weight range of many of the players.
