I suspect the club knows a few contracted players will be departing the club because it makes no sense to me how or why we’ve brought in three rookies when of the few players that are out of contract at seasons end and will likely depart (Lyons, Madden, Prior), the numbers otherwise just don’t stack up so unless these three rookies do something substantial, I dare say they’ll barely have any time to unpack their bags before needing to re-pack them again.

It’s got nothing to do with a being a fan of this. Each pick looks good. As I said, which you’ve chosen to ignore is that the numbers don’t add up unless the club already knows some contracted players will be moving on or we’re planning on paying out others.

My post has nothing to do with the players; it’s about our numbers of our list and how many will have to depart (not necessarily of those drafted tonight) come seasons end; hence my comment that I suspect the club knows some contracted players will likely leave. How does my post elicit your response when all I’m doing is asking a logical question.

Again; just to spell it out clearly for you a it has nothing to do with the players selected and if you’re in any doubt about that, you’ll see I raised this a couple of times in this very thread pre this MSD.

I would be over the moon if only one of the 3 guys earned a 2025 contract, definitely worth taking the shot, up to them now to showcase what they have and how hard they are prepared to work ... more than likely in the VFL, at least early.

Maybe but they get a chance to show something.
Some MSD players do well but most don't.
Having an early pick gives the club a better chance to get a player. Time will tell.
I like we took two young guys and one mature age player Beecken being a 23-year-old

So annoying, my local club has lost plenty of talent to VFL/SANFL and we never complain, we’re happy to let them grow as they see fit.

If the players wanted to stay in local league they wouldn’t have nominated
