Coming out of Wentworth's outstanding junior production line, Ough featured for the Bendigo Pioneers as a 16-year-old, but relocated to Ballarat in 2023 to help enhance his prospects.
Popping back home to Wentworth for two SFNL matches last season, Ough was named in the Roos best in both, and even picked up a Rising Star nomination just two weeks after older brother Harry did likewise. Does anybody else suspect these ''before the draft' videos are actually filmed 'after the draft'? Every year you watch, everything appears to just work out perfectly. I've seen other clubs videos like this and been a bit suspicious of them too .

Quite possible, or he does a couple of different ones. There is heavy editing after he mentions the first couple of names.

I guess not selecting the talls shows the faith we have in Riccardi, Cadman, Hogan ( for hopefully at least 3 more years as an elite player).
I think we didntvwant to annoy these players by taking a tall forward, or maybe as has been suggested that whilst the Whitlocks are great blokes, they may not end up as great AFL players.

Yes, that would be my takeaway, didn't rate the 2024 talls that highly.

Although, clearly, there has to be a degree of "happy with what we've got, didn't rate any of the 2024 crop above Ricca/Gruz" in that assessment. IMHO.

The funny thing is that Caruso had every draft journo believing we were going to take at least one tall with one of our first two picks. He even got Twomey saying we might take both Whitlocks.
