Yeah and you're probably spot on. Ill bet successful sides are doing similar stuff. But I'll bet they are doing it as part of a better programme which builds to a higher intensity rather than our work life balance gang.

I think many on here have just gone so far beyond the point of hope that we are overly critical of everything.
Just a reminder that the last two AFL Premiership coaches are:
Grandpa Fagan and give the players a hug because they had a bad week Fly MacRae.

Niether have or will build a dynasty.

Yep those two are two of the blokes I'm referring to when I talk about successfully integrating these techniques.

They're winners and what they do works (though of course compared to old mate literally every other coach is a winner, or at least less of a loser).

McCrae has this season to pinch another flag before dementia hits his core group. Is two in three enough to qualify as Dynasty? Brisbane on the other hand has a whiff of Geelong 07 about them imo. Danniher pulling the pin early might **** them tho.

I'm more hoping Brisbane have a whiff of Port 04 about them, ie finally snagged a premiership after going fairly close a few times - watch for them to lose the 2027 GF by a record margin to...St Kilda!

They did remarkably well with the injuries they had through the first part of the year, which emphasised how strong and deep their list is. They also did a lot to build a formidable reputation of playing well in tough finals, undoing their finals malaise from prior seasons. Daniher aside, their list looks very strong for the next 4 years at least. Beyond that, two Ashcrofts combined with a host of other good young players scattered around the ground (Fletcher, Marshall, Coleman, Lohman) makes me think they'll be a relevant contender for a long time yet.

Sam Day will kick 80 goals this year!

Fagan and McRae while they may say the soft stuff externally have never shown to put themselves in front of another and have been ruthless in list decisions and/or documented physically shaken when addressing players.

Ken has shown multiple times he would put himself first and the most ruthless list decisions he has made was to move on Lienart and Bonner…

From those who attended the open training last week: any thoughts on Rome, Monty Jr, Francou Jr and Tom Cochrane?
  • How did they look?
  • Did Tom C show why he got picked ahead of the others?
  • Are any of the first three pushing Jack Watkins or Josh Lai for one of the two open list spots?
I know it’s not what you asked, but someone said both Watkins and Lai put on a display that showed exactly why they were invited, and also why they are not on a list.

🤔 That's a back handed complement?
I read it as they ran well and showed something Athletically, however when it came to game sim or ball movement they churned the footy over. But that was just my interpretation

We have never had a problem with that before. They are hired!

Maybe we are going back to the '14 game plan with Mitchell and White.
