West Coast are always bragging about how rich they are and money means nothing to them, why don't they just buy a private jet for their players?

They do charter private flights don't they?

Jack Riewoldt will be heading On The Couch next year with Gary Lyon moving to AFL360. I don't mind the second move but not sure Riewoldt has anything near the experience to hold down On the Couch.
I agree , although he's improving with experience .
The best news is that if you have FF/Kayo you don't have to listen to JB and BT

Yeah I thought the same thing about Riewoldt. He would be good "on the couch" but not sure about him being the host.

J. Riewoldt's enthusiasm is awesome, and a breath of fresh air. Every player in every game is a highlights-producing excitement machine in his eyes, which of course is not accurate, but it's a welcome change from the usual vomit-fest of commentators only caring about and knowing about seven players on the field each game, with everyone else relegated to fodder in between the big names doing something.

I haven't listened to Riewoldt but I hope he's everything you make him out to be.

However, I do kinda take issue with running down players. In fact, pretty much every player in the AFL is awesomely good. Every year there are sensational players that go undrafted. And then, of those that do get drafted, plenty never get to play AFL. To be holding down a regular spot in a senior AFL team does mean you are fantastically good at footy, even if you're not the flashiest or even if you're asked to play a dour team role. Jaiden Magor got delisted without ever playing a game and he is a seriously talented footballer. The same goes for most players that get delisted without playing a game (maybe not Jack Hiscox even though he got a game, no offence JackHiscoxWasFast ).

I love his insights very happy, and I don't watch AFL 360 so keep Lyon on there

It's crazy that 33-year-old Steele Sidebottom turned up to training for his 17th pre-season today, and he's still had 3 less pre-seasons than Scott Pendlebury who also turned up to pre-season training today.

I don't count 16 because we all know that was just bullshit. And it wasn't a drubbing, so not sure what you are saying here.

16 still counts because we were by far a better side than the Dogs that year so even with umpiring going against us we should have been far enough in front that it didn't matter.

We copped some injuries as well. Luck went against us as well as umpiring.

Buddy got a knock early, didn't look right the rest of the game, and he had been one of our best in 2014.

Tippett. Hanners later.

Amazing how often our star players cop injuries early in GFs.

Sure, but we can't keep blaming the umps they were putrid yes, we could have also made the most of our chances. Horse either wins the flag this coming year or he goes, nothing in between.

It's been 2 of the 4 losses. 2016 and 2024.

Carrying injuries in is a different topic.

Lions carried plenty of injuries in this year.

Yes, it's a different topic though, to having a player go down or be hampered by something new on the day (that you may not just be able to inject or prepare for).

Sure, just feels like every year and every poor GF result we have excuses ready to go. Other clubs don't need excuses they just get it done.
