I don’t really see Thursday night as prime time, although the AFL is pushing for it to be. Happy for us to get more Friday and Saturday games as they seem to do well in the Sydney market. Not a fan of Thursday night but goodluck to those that are. I still think we will most likely get 1 Thursday night at home or away in the back half of the fixture which will be confirmed later in the year.

This is a good initiative and helps Freo & WC with their travel. Would be good if the AFL could ensure something like this into the future to help alleviate some of the travel burden on the WA clubs while making Vic clubs travel.

Home or away, does it matter for sydney fans in terms of being home. I'll use my example and yeah okay it's just me okay I'll admit that. I leave the office at best at 5:30, but for the record lets say I do, I live in South Menai now as I've moved, it's a GOOD 80 minutes drive at night from where I work. Do tell how I get home, somehow get dinner on and cooked and then sit down by the start of a game?

I think ideally a club wants a nice mix of the different time slots to cater to as broad a base as possible .
Selfishly I don't like my team playing Thursdays , but everyone will have their preference .

Can’t remember the last time we played Port twice in the H/A season. North twice isn’t too bad. Eagles in Perth last round could be a handy fixture.

Yep I like the fixture as soft a draw as we could hope for aside from maybe drawing the Cats twice and not Brisbane
Always going to get Lions and Giants twice.
Port probably drop off a bit, though not going to be a basket case.
Should be 4 wins vs Dons and Roos.
We should go 8-4 or 9-3 at least. Maybe drop the away Bris, Port, Freo games, or both Bris games. No reason we don't beat Giants both times.
Of course if it's a tale of two half seasons again, we could beat anyone, anywhere, or lose to anyone, anywhere.

That's a yucky fixture to me, though you can never really know til the following year how hard a team's fixture has actually been, teams change a lot.

Bullshit leaks and drip feeding it to stay in the news cycle.
Then half the rostered not locked in to assist with tv , makes it hard to plan trips etc.
It's not for the fans, plus there's other shit to do than sit around waiting for the AFL to release a fixture.
Why? its not really relevant
We'd finish 50/50 win loss at best if that was the case
