My hope is we take Lindsay if he gets past the saints, if he's gone then Bo Allan would be my choice.

We actually have quite a few young key defenders, so not sure Tauru is a real need TBH. Petty is young and a proven commodity down back (stupid forward), Daniel Turner who was also played as a makeshift forward will go back longer term and we get Kalani White as a F/S next year who is a 200cm defender. And as you note, Lever has 5 years of footy left, so plenty of water to go under that bridge.

Interesting, do you see Lindsay being a long-term replacement for Viney perhaps then?

Before posting any predicted drafts, I should note that I did have Reid and Armstrong going to St. Kilda with the Sandy links but Lindsay has bolted out of nowhere recently, so who knows what will happen with that.

Will be an exciting draft for sure though and hopefully it all goes well for all the clubs, it definitely won't

I look at that and you see Tauru at P12 and think. If North (assuming they are actually hot on him) would have to be on that phone to Melbourne trying to do a deal.

The reality is that we're at the mercy of other clubs which is frustrating. Particularly when the 7 players who fit our biggest list need are going to go at picks 1-7, and we enter at pick 8. Completely out of our control and so it makes sense that the supporter base would try to pivot a little bit to try and get excited about the guys that we're probably going to take.

That being said I've seen some proper whinging and some pretty rank takes amidst our fans, shit like blaming other clubs for their decisions and performances for the position we're in, which is plain stupidity. No one to blame but ourselves
