Nah, Nas turns the ball over a lot. It’s very noticeable because you’re always hoping it’ll be an elite kick and he’s often got it in a very damaging part of the ground and has the license to take those risky kicks, which aren’t always pulled off.

But he’s still developing, even though his output is already elite for his age and position. He will only get better, and more confident in his ability to pull off kicks and with the decision making on when to do so. Plus when we start playing better he will explode, because he’ll actually have marking forwards to kick it to… should that ever occur.

For mine, he has the highest ceiling on our list alongside King and Owens. Now I just want Windy to recapture his preseason form where he was our most hyped player and we will be laughing at how good our 2021 draft was.

Our performance dropped away when Steele and King returned.

Steele and Crouch are inside players and Ross, Wood and Clarke, etc are required to cover and be more defensive. Hence the reduced points. Crouch points have increased, but has his impact with those disposals increased?

King has a lot to learn about forward craft with being agressive with his leads and attacking the ball in the air. He is young and needs an on ground mentor to further his development.
How King, a guy whom played forward pretty much all his junior career, with Lloyd (one of the better forwards in the last 30 years) as his coach, NOT know how to lead, or attack the ball more effectively, beggars belief. His brother, whom played limited forward time in juniors in comparison, seems far more natural in the role (albeit when he's not being subbed for only having a possession to his name)

Callaghan is the only one I think even comes close to Nas. The one thing I noticed in Nas's stats list is that he's 12th in total turnovers across the whole competition. I heard them saying that Bergman is a great kick at Port on SEN, I would call Nas an elite kick but the turnovers are high. A weird one.

The reason is he has the skills to bite off difficult kicks, which is fantastic. As he matures he'll understand his limits more and the turnovers will drop down.

NAS is going to be a star!

Looks like the perfect fit for us. Don't think he'll be leaving but you'd hope we have been asking

Melbourne premiership midfielder James Jordon’s free-agency status is making him an attractive target, with Sydney now among several clubs monitoring his performance as he comes out of contract, according to sources familiar with the issue who wished to remain anonymous.

Until recently the 22-year-old had been unable to cement a spot in Melbourne’s line-up this season, playing as a substitute on multiple occasions, but he has returned to the midfield recently with Clayton Oliver sidelined through injury.

He attended 20 centre bounces against the Brisbane Lions on Friday night and is also a good two-way runner who can play on the wing or in the middle.

Unfortunately it feels like that stems from being much taller than the other kids, he could just stand there and mark it above anyone else.

You notice when he bites off a bit too much but overall he's the best kick in the side. I think he takes the risky kicks that cut sides open or come back at the defence. He's very composed and doesn't go back into his shell when they don't come off. He just loads back up. He's playing like early season Nick Daicos as that creative distributing half back. It's like the architect role where Sinclair is in a similar position but he's more builder than designer.

Honestly Owens is a contested bull which looks super impressive for his age but his impact on most games is less than what Nas puts up most weeks. That said Owens is in a harder position and relies on others to feed him. Nas looks like one of those players that already looks like a 100 gamer so you forget how good his game is.

Bergman is an interesting one because it sounds like he has similar turnover issues. If he's "bad" like Nas he's worth chasing. Every time I watch Port he has one of his quiet games.

Probably already in our top 6 players on recent form. He's steamed past Brad Hill types.

When the draft was on I watched all the footage I could find. He played quite an unusual game for such a tall guy. He was more a 7 foot tall Stephen Milne the way he scored a lot of his goals. He was too fast and slippery for tall defenders and too tall and strong for the smaller guys. I don't think he's ever had to work super hard and then under Ratts it looked like a deliberate game plan to drop it on King and spill or contest for the mosquito fleet to get on the end of.

He'll be a good player regardless. He's not going to be an issue going forward. He might just be more of a McKay/Lynch than Buddy. Either way he's one of our few draft success stories in the last 20 years. Nothing to get stressed about. We probably should have kept Bruce to take the heat off him and let him develop in his own time but it is what it is now.

Lloyd was the school coach, not his junior coach.

The Cats absolutely love him and he's from Geelong, so he's not going anywhere unfortunately.

That’s 100% correct except for the “he’s from Geelong” bit.

The last part of the article above...

"It would be pretty crazy (to be drafted by St Kilda), especially with the way the Saints are going and it would be a dream could true as every little kid wants to play for their side.

“I would like to go anywhere, but going to St Kilda would be extra special.”

He's going to be a beauty, but I think he's probably Geelongs best young talent so it would take a shit-load to get him I imagine.
