Also Carlton's FB was pick 1, I think.Denver Grainger Barass was taken with the same pick a year later..

Good source?Take with pinch of salt: Arlo Draper on the radar
Unsure on source, hence pinch of saltGood source?
Interesting, given that we passed on him in his draft year
Correct, just pointing it out 12 months on from McAsey another KPD prospect went at exactly the same pick...#6Also Carlton's FB was pick 1, I think.
I don't think I would care so much if McAsey actually became a high level key defender prospect.Correct, just pointing it out 12 months on from McAsey another KPD prospect went at exactly the same pick...#6
I’ve looked back at my posting history at the time - I was happy to take a shopping list of others (some of which are also busts) before going McAsey. To my eye he never had much pre-draft of anything for us to be excited about. For first round picks you want to at least look at their highlights and have a wow moment or two where you think the player might have some point of difference. He was with me .....didn't see too many criticising McAsey in his 1st year ....and then somehow linked his mental health issues with a lack of talent
He would have been that DEF we need
Clearly seen enough of Sid to start making plans to tempt him home in 2025/26!Take with pinch of salt: Arlo Draper on the radar
Rumor is ....a Club is prepared to offer H.Himmelberg $900K per year
Given the figure mentioned for Redman was $800K .....would you pay an additional $100K for Himmelberg

I do believe Premiership teams need a great DEF ....I believe that zone is of greater needIf we could find 900k for HH, can we then rip that contract up and instead find a mid who wants a million?
Even if we have to wait another year.
Himmelberg is worth around 650-700 imo. Redman isn't worth 800k.Rumor is ....a Club is prepared to offer H.Himmelberg $900K per year

If you look at the list: Nank, Taylor, Shoenberg, and Berry developing in the SANFL ....I don't believe we're in a pickle in the MIDS

Question is; a MID has to be available ......if you look at PORTS success, it off the back of the midfield pace of Butters & Rozee .....IMO we can match with Rankine & Rachelle .....Berry can be the big bodied midI do agree there is some untapped midfield potential in the squad and that needs to be explored. In particular Berry and Taylor.
The point though is, if we have almost a million to lure a player, we could get a pretty good mid for that.
If one of the guys already on the list gets shunted back in the queue/leaves because they are behind a million dollar mid, not the worst problem.
V/Good player. Too much in what he offers. $800k about right. Redmond $700-800k about right to get him. When you start paying too much for recruits it starts getting players restless and chasing money elsewhere.Rumor is ....a Club is prepared to offer H.Himmelberg $900K per year

Got any names ?
Who can we get from GC and their high draft pick as steak knives as a sweeter? That's the ******* hard part.
The absolute elite ones are already on fat contracts.
Would need to be a younger guy who is not yet on this type of money and that comes with the obvious risks.

You really are a strange cat. The other day you’re bemoaning people relying on journos knowing player offers, now you’re quoting figures.Correct
